59 of Santa Rosa the pilot his wife Thelma 42 their daugh The four were en route to Harrah Okla to visit relatives of the Stephens family Stephens was an ardent flier who often told of his flights in and the charred remains of a dressed turkey BENICIA Solano UPI City Attorney John Bohn re ports negotiations are under way between the City of Bent cla and the federal govern ment for the purchase of the Benicia Arsenal Bohn said if the city acquires the historic arsenal which was ordered closed by the army in March it would be leased to a San Francisco industrial firm Bohn indicated the be released on parole tomorrow from the womens state prison at Corona Mrs Scarlett was sent to the prison last January by Superior Judge Winslow Christian of Yolo County who said public funds were involved in the theft and therefore as a public official she could not be considered for probation at that time However he did describe her as a good probation risk and the womens prison board of trustees took this into consideration in approving her parole after having served 10 months of an indeterminate sentence She had been indicted on three counts All except one count charging the theft of $1200 were dismissed and she pleaded guilt to the one count The authorities reported her shortages amounted to more than $30000 but that she repaid about $23000 The conditions of her parole require
