T.n.tresDtteis, Baadaman. i Richmond. Va. Sapeiix Coart. The November term of Chatham superior court was held last week for the trial of both civil and criminal cases.

In addition to the criminal cases mentioned in last weeks Record the following were disposed of after The Record was printed: State against Mansfield Cheek; attempted criminal assault; verdict of guilty of simple assault and defendant sentenced thirty days to the roads of nion ojunty State against Mansfield Cheek; assault with deadly weapon; verdict of guilty and defendant sentenced thirty days to the roads. State against Solomon Williams; larceny; verdict guilty and defendant sentenced to six months on the roads. This is the same case that was tried before a magistrate several months ago, in which the defendant was released for the want of sufficient evidence and part of the stolen money was taken to pay fees. State against Solomon Williams and Joe Alston; larceny of a watermelon; verdict guilty and judgment suspended. State against Babe Burnett, Richard Burnett and Hilliard Baldwin; affray with deadly weapons; verdict of guilty, and Babe sentenced to sixty days, Richard to ninety days and Hilliard to four months on the roads.

State against Lonnie Dorsett; assault on his wife with a deadly weapon; verdict of guilty, and defendant fined $20 and costs. The criminal docket was not finished until Thursday morning. Although all the criminal cases were of small importance ano most of them fighting scrape between negroes, yet they were closely contested and their trial consumed much time. It seem a pity that important civil case; should be so long delayed ar.d cannot be tried because so muc of the time of the court is con sumed with these fighting case; among the colored people. There were only three civi cases tried by a jury.

Tne firs; was tried in lets than five min utes, being an action for divorct brought by Nannie Wickei against George Wicker (both col ored) and a verdict was promptly gived in favor of the plaintiff.
