John KimM Killed by Explosion or Blasting Powder. On last Friday, near Sanford, Mr. John Kimbell, a carpenter, who lived in Greenwood township, was terribly mangled by an explosion of blasting powder, from the effects of which he died on the following day. From what we can learn the accident happened at a blacksmith shop beyond Sanford, near the sit? of the new saw-mill that is being put down. Blasting powder was used in digging the well, and some one had put the keg of powder in the shop.

Mr. Kimbell was in the shop when a spark from the forge fell in the powder, he saw it and ran for the door, but slipped and fell against the keg, when the explosion took place. There were three other men in the shop, but they succeeded in getting out SSTL Mr. Kimbell left a wife and five little children to mourn his loss. His remains were interred at White Hill last Sunday.
