the last quarter of a century Tom Springer was found in the woods dead Sunday morning His body was lying 1 partially covered with water though it was evident that he had not been drowned 1 His death like a great part of his life was a mystery He had been staying for several days 1 with his daughter Mrs Rufus Smith On Tuesday March 17 he left the home of Mrs Smith He ate dinner the following day with a friend and left saving he was not feeling well That was the last time he was seen till the body was found Sunday Some children discovered the body and Coroner Huneycutt was called The body was dress ed and taken to the Smith home It was buried Monday at Bear Creek church I Not far from where the body was found a bed of leaves was discovered under a log It is supposed that he had lain here
