In an open field near Canton Randeeker was unhurt MVVVl FOR BELT BRIDGE Finance Corporation Aid To Provide Work For 6000 Men (BT UNITED PRESS NEW ORLEANS Sept 27 More than 6000 men will be given work when construction starts on the public belt bridge for railroad and vehicular traffic across the Mississippi river at New Orleans Last details of the vast enter prise were completed today when the Reconstruction Finance Corporation approved a loan of $13000000 to finance the project Under the approved application It Is understood that another $1000000 will be advanced after the work gets under way If that additional amount is needed The corporation has agreed to purchase $13000000 worth of 5 per cent bonds by the city of New Orleans and the state of Louisiana to cover costs of construction of the bridge The earnings of the bridge will be made up of fees paid by the railroads using the span The bridge will be toll free Insofar as vehicular traffic Is concerned i While local and state Rico today Gov James Beverly estimated after receiving casualty reports from police authorities The governor told fan emergency relief committee of San Juan citizens that the total dead and Injured probably would be revised upward Instead of downward when additional reports had been received The committee was organized pending a direct appeal to the American Red Cross for badly needed assistance The driver A Edwards an employe of the Face Truck Lines of Atlanta reported at Griffin that he was taken off a heavily-loaded truck between Barnesville and Forsyth about 60 miles south of Atlanta and kicked and beaten because he atop quick Edwards said he told the men he was operating In interstate commerce between Jacksonville Fla and Atlanta and that his truck carried no milk but that someone in the crowd of 25 men shouted: "That make any difference You didn't atop quick enough" The truck driver said he was kicked and beaten with a chair He showed various cuts and bruises Edwards said he was driving a heavily-loaded truck and that when he was signalled to stop he came to an easy stop to avoid a strain After reporting the Incident to his employers by telephone from Griffin he proceeded toward Atlanta Meanwhile Mayor James Key of Atlanta entered the milk war with a suggestion that representatives of Atlanta milk distributors and of the Georgia Milk Producers Confederation Inc meet Twenty tons of boiler tubing sliding back and forth in a freight car crushed out the lives of two youths Identified this afternoon by Jersey City police as Ralph Barton Sweat 21 and his brother Harold has been chosen chairman of a nonpartisan committee "to survey the transportation situation in this country and to report such recommendations for relief and betterment as may appear to the committee
