KROY Final arrangements are being made for the official opening of KROY the new Royal Miller radio station by Governor Frank Merriam at 2 Monday when the chief state executive will start the transmitter by pressing a button in his office in the Capitol He will deliver the first address to be broadcast from KROY The special dedicatory program to be given from 2 to 6:15 will be broadcast from the main studio of KROY on the mezzanine floor of the Hotel Sacramento City county and state officials and civic leaders will participate in the program At 7:30 Monday a dinner will be given in the Hotel Sacramento by the Sacramento Chamber of Commerce in honor of Miller Staff Of New Station The staff of KROY Is composed of Robert Barringer general manager who has been connected with radio for sixteen years as actor author-executive and producer A1 Wolfle former chief technician with KXA KIT KMO and KORE technical director Robert Spence former announcer-director with KXA KIT and KMO program director Bert Hews widely known California newspaperman news editor George Collipp known to radio audiences as James Mason and seller of radio time for the last seven years sales manager Miss Lucille McCubbin Sacramento singer and musician receptionist George Strahl former operator with WCLO WOMT and WHBY radio operator Mrs Alyse Sullivan programs and Harry Oakes veteran theatrical and
