Wednesday, April 7, 191o. THE VANCOUVER WORLD FOREIGNERS IN 0 BREAD These Prices are These Promises are Reliable AND START RIO Permanent WHEN, upon the urpent advice of many of my patients, last week, published for the first time my scale of prices I statea emphatically this principle of nv'ne, which I now repeat Every piece of work done in my office, every' service rendered any patient is according to the highest ideals of the dental profession. WHEN, some months ago, I established my practice I made certain definite and emphatic statements of principle. These are touched upon below. Thev have not been altered in the slightest degree NOR WILL THEY BE ALTERED AT ANY TIME IN THE FUTURE.

PREVIOUS to the actual publishing of my prices I had made the statement that my prices were AS LOW OR LOWER than many of the so called "cut rate" or "bargain" dentists. I invited a comparison, and invariably when I gave an estimate the patient expressed, surprise that my price was so low. IT was this which led to the publishing of my actual charges. In doing so here I wish to state again, with all the sincerity at my command, that these are not "cut rates" or but a PERMANENT SCALE OF TRICES FOR DEFINITE SERVICES, and that the principles pon which I have built the foundation of a fine practice and upon which 1 hope for an extension of that practice HAVE NOT, AND WILL NOT, BE ALTERED. MY well known guarantees are hacked by my reputation and my resources.

They mean what they say. Serious disturbances occurred on Tuesday evening, when a large number of foreigners who. during the past few months, have been members of the bread line, decided that as the civic relief had been stopped they would take the matter Into their own hands and procure the food which they considered the city should give them. A dozen arrests and prompt action by the police averted further rioting. All through the day a vast crowd of men, mostly alien enemies, thronged the vicinity of the relief office, atid tcwarris evening the case began to lcok serious, threatening murmurs being heard passing from mouth to mouth.

During the day American Consul Mansfield, who Is alsn acting Austrian consul, was called upon, by some 100 AuafrianB. who demanded that they be given food, and made threats is 10 what they would do If refused.
