Local papers devoted just minor back page space to the story, and identified her simply as "a Los Angeles divorcee and mother of three." What escaped attention is that this was Hie same Cynthia Bouron who made Hollywood headlines in 1970 by charging Cary Grant with fathering her child. Though the case was never resolved In court, Mrs. Bouron listed the then 66-year-old star as father on the infant's birth certificate and named the baby Stephanie Andrea Grant. That wasn't the first time she had gotten her name associated with filmland celebrities and scandal. Five years earlier, in 1965, she was married to Yugoslavian actor Milos Milocevic.

It was Milocevic who shot and killed the fifth wife of actor Mickey Rooney, Barbara Thomason Rooney, in 1966 and then took his own life. The last, sad chapter of Cynthia Bouron's life was written when she was beaten to death and stuffed into the trunk of a car on a San Fernando Valley supermarket parking lot.
