offensively throughout Doug Creger broke the tie with a two-yard bolt in the open ing minutes of the final period and Fullback Don Booth most effective ground-gainer added the icing with his slither' ing return of an intercepted Theodose aerial But the heroes today were blue-shirted linemen chiefly Eric Christensen Red Keville and Bob Sgro who finally yielded under the tremendous hammering Once with Tech having a first down on Richmond's one-foot line the embattled Spiders rose up mightily and Tech after three exasperating tries and an offen sive penalty had to settle for a field goal attempt from the 12 All told Tech made three futile field goal attempts so well did they respect Richmond's dug-in trenchmen The victory was second over a State foe and lifted it to the front of the Big Six championship race Hokie rooters never will have reason to doubt the Gobblers comeback qualities so well did they recover Continued on Page 5 Column 4 I By Shelley Rolfe Tima-Dipatch Staff
