Colon Canal Zone Panama after a brief illness will arrive in New York City tomorrow Funeral services will be held at 11 A Wednesday at Rosemort home of Professor Copen-haver in Marion and the former home of Mrs Anderson who is accompanying the body of her hus band here Burial will bo in Round Hill Cemetery Marion MRS ALVA CROW ELL STAUNTON -The funeral of Mrs Edna Runnels Crowell who died Thursday night after an illness of several months was held Saturday morning at the Runnels residence here her pastor the Rev Edgar A Potts of central Methodist Church officiating assisted by the Rev David Glovier Burial was in Thom rose Cemetery Mrs Crowell was horn in Staunton a daughter of the late William David and Agnes Virginia Runnels and had sjient her entire life here She is survived by Walsh New York author and educator was announced yesterday as the 1941 recipient of the Laetare medal awarded annually since 1883 by the University of Notre Dame to an outstanding member of the Catholic laity The Rev Hugh O'Donnell president of the university said of Walsh in announcing the award: John Gilmary recipient of the first Laetare medal in 1883 Dr William Thomas Walsh has distinguished himself as an au-Ihor chiefly in the field of history His genius for making the past live again has always been controlled by a scholarly devotion to truth" Walsh 50-ycar-old professor
