Truehart and others have one more year to go -7 THE STATE DESERVES IT The State of: Virginia deserves three or four football teams which can blast the opposition off the field every once in awhile' The writer for one would like to see it The followers of the Virginia football teams are the most loyal and we might add the most patient we have yet come in contact with In the far South if a football team loses two or three or four games hand running it is apt to lose the lari I larger portion of its following until it starts winning But the Virginia fans are pretty steady customers win or lose Some of the crowds attending games where both principals have lost three or more games are amazing THE UNIVERSITY The sentiment throughout the State seems to be rather generally in favor of the University of Virginia having a representative team Almost every one approached on the subject even among rival alumni groups admitted they would like to see -the Cavaliers regain some of their old prestige on the gridiron It would be the most wholesome thing imaginable for football interest in the State and no end of joy to the alumni old guard who have been awaiting some sort of renaissance over at Charlottesville A In any event they blaming Gus Tebell for anything that happened to the team this year including the Chapel Hill disaster Gus isa very popular individual on the Virginia campus and the students think he has' done a pretty good job this year under the circumstances The Cavaliers were some improved over last year at that again SMAILIL TTdDWM By BEN AMES for the De-vitt-Fork Union game here last Saturday 'This is 'unfortunate but hardly less than to be expected tinder the circumstances Both Devitt and Fork Union are excellent teams 'But pur suggestion to the Legion officials in the future would be to have at least one local team as a principal A tsiim with a local following is needed to attract a crowd Two local teams would he even better A team as
