THE YORK DISPATCH WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER-2, 2011 WWWW.YORKDISPATCH.COM Obituaries Audree M. Kauffman WEST YORK Audree Marie Kauffman, 80, died at 1:45 p.m. Monday, October 31, 2011, at York Hospital. She was the wife of Alton L. Kauffman.

Born November 17, 1930, In Dallastown, daughter of the late Palmer E. and Lillie (Flory) Poff. A 1948 graduate of West York High School, she began her col- she was the lege studies at York Junior College, then completed her college degree at Millersville State Teachers College in the study of Education. She taught school for 35 years in York City and West York School districts. For 21 years she had also helped her son, David, run his two former stores, The Red Caboose Craft and Gift Shop, and Colonial Craft Store of Red Lion and West York.

She was a life member of Christ Lutheran Church of York, where she and her husband, Alton, were married on December 24, 1954. She had been a member of its Altar Guild, active with Luther League, and had been a volunteer office staff member. She was an active member of the former Scholarship Program of the College Club of York and was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority and the P. Buckley Mass Society. She was an avid reader and attended the teacher's book club, and enjoyed playing bridge and traveling.

In addition to her husband of 56 years, Mrs. Kauffman is survived by their only child, David P. Kauffman, and his wife, Margaret (Callenberger), of York. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Laurette M. Poff.

A service to celebrate Mrs. Kauffman's life is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at Christ Lutheran Church. 29 S. George York, with her pastor, Rev.

Patrick J. Rooney STS, officiating. Viewings will be 4 to 6. p.m. Thursday at Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, 863 S.

George York (the former Hahn Home), and 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in Dallastown Union Cemetery. "Jack" Miller, and companion of Ronald Trump. Graveside services were held on Thursday, October 27, 2011, at Christ Lutheran Church Cemetery, Shrewsbury. The Geiple Fu- neral Home, 53 Main Glen Rock, was in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Miller was born August 17, 1919, in Shrewsbury, a daughter of the late Frank "Bob" C.

and Mary F. (Wagner) Kimes. She had worked at the Bon Ton Potato Chip Company in York, and at several local canning and sewing companies over the years. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Shrewsbury, and held memberships in the Shrewsbury Fire Co. and New Freedom V.F.W.

Post Ladies Auxiliaries. She also enjoyed playing bingo and making Jelly. In addition to her companion, she leaves two granddaughters, L. Sweeny and her husband, Steven of New Freedom, and Donna Kay Liller of Glen Rock; two greatgrandchildren, Elyse Liller and Joshua Sweeney; two sisters, Belva Amspacher of Glen Rock and Elnora Stiffler of York; and a brother, Robert T. Kimes of Spring Grove.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Rosalie "Rosie" (Miller) Beckmeyer. Kotek YORK TWP. Jerry A. Kotek, 83, passed away on Monday, October 31, 2011, at York Hospital with his family by his side. Following cremation, a celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2011, at the Etzweiler Funeral Home, 1111 E.

Market York. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. A burial at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens will follow. Born in 1928, in Little Ferry, N.J., Jerry was the third of four children of Frank and Josephine (Vincensova) Kotek, Czech Immigrants who owned and operated the local bakery.

Jerry learned to bake at the shop and demonstrated his baking skills as a father by showing his children how to make traditional Czech cookies at Christmas. He graduated from Lodi High School in Lodi, N.J., in 1946. Jerry was an accomplished bowler and considered turning professional. Jerry was drafted into the U.S. Army and served with commendation in the Korean War as a communications linesman.

He was proud of his service, although he didn't like to talk about it much. He attended the dedication ceremony of the Korean War Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. in 1995. After the war, Jerry married his sweetheart, Florence Matich in 1954. They were married for 53 years until her death in 2007.

Jerry took full advantage of the opportunity to receive a college education under the G.1. Bill, attending Farleigh Dickinson University and graduating with a degree in industrial engineering in 1959. Jerry and Florence moved to York in 1963, when Jerry was hired by York BorgWarner (which later became York International). He specialized in inventory control and was active in the local chapter of the American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS). Jerry retired after 25 years at the company and continued to work several years afterwards as a consultant to the firm, traveling to Mexico frequently to advise them on their new factories there.

Jerry's passion was the collection and study of stamps and postcards and organic gardening. He was an active volunteer in the White Rose Philatelic Society and shared his joy of stamp collecting with the Colonial York Junior Stamp Club. He was particularly interested in stamps from the former Czechoslovakia. Jerry was always planning, organizing, and attending stamp and 1 postcard shows. He was a founding member of the York Post Card Club.

In retirement, he traveled frequently to postcard shows along the East Coast, buying and selling cards with his friend, Dr. Richard Moulton from Victoria, B.C. Jerry enjoyed serving his community. He and Florence helped organize York Township's 250th annivercelebration in 2003. He was appointed to the York Township Zoning Hearing Board in 1998 where he served for 10 years.

Jerry believed in the importance of voting and worked as a poll worker with his wife for several years. Jerry is survived by his three children: a daughter, Susan Kotek Sprague and her husband, Kevin of Dallastown, a daughter, Tina Kotek and her partner, Aimee Wilson of Portland, and a son, Steven Kotek, his companion, Trudy O'Keefe, and their daughter, Dynola of York. He is also survived by his sisters, Emily Lhotsky of Youngtown, and Frances Gwiazda of Maywood, N.J. He was preceded in death by his older brother, Frank Kotter. She was the wife of Oscar E. Fox. Born 20, 1922, in Scranton, she was raised in Scranton and Chicago. She was the only child of the late John F. and Gladys V.

(Wood) Joyce. Nancy received her Bachelor's Degree from Millersville State Teachers College, and a Master's Degree in Education from Western Maryland College. A loving wife, mother, and teacher, Mrs. Fox retired from Red Lion Area Schools, and prior to that taught at Spring Grove Area School District, Northeastern School District and York City Schools. She also taught Art History at the York Campus of Penn State University.

Mrs. Fox had a passion for reading, art, caring for animals, and helping young people in their formative years. She served on the Corporate Board of the as well as an Arts and Crafts Counselor at its Camp Minqua, and a Chaperone for the YMCA Teen Canteen. She also was active with the Readers Digest Foreign Study League leading groups of teens through Europe in the summer, volunteered at Margaret E. Moul Home, and served as a Docent for the Walters Art Museum in Baltimore for many years.

In addition to her husband of 67 years, Mrs. Fox is survived by a son, John M. Fox and his wife, Nancy, of York; two daughters, Ann F. Price and her husband, Richard, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.. and Alice F.

Brubaker and her husband, Roger, of Lancaster; three grandchildren, Michael A. Price and his wife Aimee, Rebecca E. Ingold and Read A. Ingold; and two stepgrandchildren, Daniel Miller, and Karen Gleba, and her husband, Jim. A visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m.

Saturday at Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, 863 S. George York (the former Hahn Home). A private burial will be in Saint Thomas Cemetery, Bernville, Pennsylvania. KuhnerAssociates.com SSgt. Thomas Franklin Godfrey TONOPAH, AZ Tom passed away at the very young age of 43. Thomas F. Godfrey 0 Tonopah, Arizona was born on September 21 1965, and grew in Jefferson. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Tawnya; daughter Taylor; son, Trace; parents, Frank and Barb; brothers Matthew, Jeff, and David; and sister, Bonnie.

He is also survived by nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and in-laws. Tom was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps serving in the 1st Persian Gulf War and then being honorably discharged as Staff Sergeant. Tom was the recipient of several commendations for exemplary service. Tom loved fixing old cars, trucks, and anything. he could put his hands on.

Richard was Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop for over 30 years, organizing the Appalachian Trail hiking program, Philmont trips and Winter Camp programs.

He provided leadership to over 700 scouts and over 50 scouts in attaining Eagle Rank. He received the Silver Beaver award for distinguished service to youth from the National Office of Boy Scouts of America. Richard had a zest for life. He enjoyed I family activities including traveling, hunting, Penn State football, the card club of 39 years, and weekly dinners with his children and grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Sharon L.

Probasco and her husband, Frank of Chester and Marsha A. Reiber of Elizabethtown; and two sons, John T. Reiber and his wife, Mary, and Richard Benton Reiber and his wife, Christel, all of York; five grandchildren, Richard Tyra Reiber, Angela Reiber, Catherine McCarty, Jackson Reiber and Donovan Reiber; two brothers, Dale E. Reiber and his wife Mary Anne of Redding Stanley C. Reiber and his wife Janet of Harrisburg N.C.: and a sister, Elaine L.
