Hagerstrom, one of the Air Force's most decorated pilots, has retired at Norton Air Force Base after more than 21 year's of service. Col. Hagerstrom is a combat veteran of three wars, two-time fighter ace, racing pilot, accident investigator, scholar, lawyer and holder of the Distinguished Service Cross, the nation's second highest award for heroism.
