Jensen, age 30, died Wednesday, August 17, 1994 at his home, the victim of a gunshot wound. Born December 11, 1963 in Salt Lake City. Armstrong Marion C. Armstrong, age 77. passed away July 31, 1994 from complications resulting from an into San Diego Harbor on July 5, 1994. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie, son, Don, daughter, Linda; three grandchildren and brother, Bill. He worked for 38 years in the heavy equipment business years with Wheeler Machinery Company in Salt Lake City and 12 years with Wyoming Machinery Company in Casper).

Following his 1981 retirement to Santee, California, the last 10 years Marion had worked parttime for the San Diego Maritime Museum on the Ship "Star of India" docked in San Diego Harbor. Gerald Mirth Brown, 60, of Pleasant Grove, died August 19, 1994 at a Provo hospital. He was born October 18, 1933 in Provo, Utah, a son of Cleveland Wright and Wilmirth Brown Brown. He married Marlene Glover December 7. 1951; they were later divorced.

He was a member of the LDS Church living in the Pleasant Grove f6th Ward. He was presently serving as ward executive secretary. He had been employed at Bradshaw Auto Parts, Geneva Steel and had spent 10 years in. in Cs a purchasing agent for a construction company. He was a loving father and grandfather.

He is survived by a son and a daughter, Mrs. Kim (Jerilee) Adams, Parowan; Ronald Wallace Brown, Orem; nine grandchildren; one greatgrandchild; a brother, Glen R. Brown, Provo. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and two sisters. Services will be Monday, at 11 a.m, at the Pleasant Grove 16th Ward, 200 North 400 East, Pleasant Grove.

Friends may call Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, 500 South at 300 East, Pleasant Grove or Monday at the church, one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Provo City Cemetery. She was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, on November 26, 1911, the daughter of Ray and Hazel Whisman. Marguerite graduated from Grant High School in Portland, Oregon and then from what was known as the College of Idaho. In 1948, she married Dr. Jerome K.

Burton of Boise, Idaho. In addition to raising Dr. Burton's sons as her own, she was active in many charitable, social, and educational organizations. She served as president of the Idaho State Medical Auxiliary, Women's Auxiliary of the Episcopal Church, Saint Luke's Medical Auxiliary and Women of Rotary. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray Whisman and Hazel Whisman Tyler, as well as her husband, Dr.

Jerome K. Burton. She surived by: her sister, Carolyn Gill Salt Lake City; a niece, Gretchen Anderson Salt of Lake City: a nephew, Jon Gill of St. Anthony, Idaho; Dr. David S.

Burton of Menio Park, and Riley Burton of Twin Falls, Idaho. Graveside services will be held at Morris Hill Cemetery in Boise, Idaho, 11 a.m., on August 22, 1994. Carter SANTAQUIN, Utah- Margaret May Garfield Carter, 92, died in Spanish Fork, Utah on August 19, 1994. She was born November 16, 1901, at Lehi, Utah, a daughter of Parley H. and Elizabeth Ann Dallimore Garfield. She married Clarence H. Carter, June 24, 1919 at Santaquin, the marriage was sealed in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple, September 19, 1928.

He died December 17, 1981. She was a member of the LDS Church and served as a visiting teacher for over seventy years. She was a Temple worker and a member of the Daughter of Utah Pioneers. She enjoyed crocheting and embroidering, cooking and baking. Survived by three daughters, Lillian Brimhall, Sandy; Mrs.

Norman (Marjorie) Oison, Magna, Utah; Mrs. Ray (Joan) Thomas, Spanish Fork; 22 grandchildren; 55 25 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Florence Drage, Spanish Fork. Preceded in death by a son, Clarence Ray Carter; and three daughters; Donna C. Carter, Rita C. Peart and ReNee C.

Harris. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, August 23, 1994, at 11:00 a.m., at Holladay Hills Funeral Home, 66 South 300 East, Santaquin. Friends may call Monday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. and an hour prior to services on Tuesday at Holladay Hills. Interment will be in the Santaquin City Cemetery.

Bill M. Clark Billie Maurice Clark was born July 28, 1913 in Spokane, Washington to 0. C. and Anna Swensen Clark, and passed away August 17, 1994 at home. He graduated from high school in Wichita, Kansas and served an LDS Mission to the Central States.

He served honorably in the US Army during World War I. Bill spent several years as a South Salt Lake police officer, and then retired after 23 years with the U.S. Postal Service. He was married to Irma Olsen, October 28, 1936 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She passed away March 11, 1953.

He then married Louise Kimball Hobson, May 26, 1953. He is survived by his wife; four sons, James D. (Annette), Robert M. (Jan), Richard and Joseph K. (Denise); four daughters, DeAnna (Terry) Powers, Susan (Scott) Kenney, Mary Lou (John) Gardner, Kristine (Michael) Rice; 32 grandchildren and 17 great Bill was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services will be Monday, August 22, 1994 at 11 a.m. at the Valley View LDS Ward, 2125 East Evergreen Avenue, Salt Lake. Friends may call on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive and at the ward, Monday a.m. priorto services.

Interment, Pleasant Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to your favorite charity. James G. Cottam James Grant Cottam, 78 of Salt Lake City, died August 20, 1994. Born November 3, 1915 in Snowville, Utah, a son of James William and Mary Arbon Cottam.

He married Meiba Willardsen on June 13, 1945 in Salt Lake City. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was a veteran of World War 11, having served as an officer in the Army Air Corp and received the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal and the Chinese Medal of Honor. He worked as a flight instructor, a commercial pilot and retired from the Federal Aviation Administration at the Salt Lake Center. He was a member of the American Legion and was an active member of the LDS Church.

He is survived by his wife Melba of Salt Lake City, three sons: James J. and wife Carol Cottarn, Tempe, John R. and wife Joan Cottam, Alta Loma, Ronald L. and wife Shirley Cottam, Sandy, 15 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and a sister Martha Hales, Ogden, Utah. He was preceded in death by a sister Beatrice Hoffman.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 24, 1994 at 12 Noon in the Monument Park 14th Ward, 2255 S. Wasatch Dr. (2700 E). Friends may call at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 E. 1300 Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m.

and at the church Wednesday one hour prior to services. Interment Larkin Sunset Lawn. Radia L. Daynes Radia Parkinson Larson Daynes passed away August 15, 1994 in Salt Lake City. Born February 10, 1900 in Franklin, Idaho to Nephi and Bertha Parkinson Larson.

Married Joseph Donald Daynes, August 30, 1922 in the Salf Lake LDS Temple. He preceded her in death March 27, 1978. Graduated from Onelda High School in Preston, Idaho; valedictorian of her class. Attended Utah State University in Logan, where she was a member of Sigma Theta Phi, later called Chi Omega sorority, and active in class organizations. Graduated from University of Utah; member of Gamma Phi, later called PI Beta Phi sorority.

Member of several art and social groups: Fine Arts, Booklore, Everlasting Study Group of church history for many years. Devoted member of LDS Church, having served in Relief Society presidency, YWMIA and Primary. Served as a Stake Missionary, Bonneville Stake, for three years. Member DUP. Ordinance worker in Salt Lake Temple, volunteer worker in LDS Church Communications Department and Dept.

of Social Services for six years. LDS Hospital volunteer worker for many years. Survivors: one son and three daughters, J. Richard and wife, Yvonne, Salt Lake City: Rae Jean Maeser and husband, Dr. Sherwin M.

of Seattle, Washington; Barbara Bigler, of Salt Lake City: Marian Miliet and husband, Dr. F. Jackson, of Salt Lake City; 14 grandchildren and 21 greatgrandchildren; brother, Dr. Reed P. Larson and Lennox, of Salt Lake; two sisters, Roma Parry Osborn and Sam, of Palm Springs, and June Larson, of Salt Lake.

Luycime Dennies Our beloved mother Luycime Kathryn English Dennies passed away at home on August 18, 1994 under the loving care of her daughter Marilyn Dennies and Sherry Petroff. She was born November 21, 1904 in Beaver, a daughter of Franklin and Kathryn Ann Blackner English. Marred James Willian Dennies on December 24, 1923 in Salt Lake City; he died February, 1966. Luycime was an active member of LDS Church, having served as First Counselor in Relief Society for many years. She was accomplished in handcrafts and excelled in tatting, where she won several awards and prizes for her work.

She enjoyed the theater and opera and was an avid reader. Survived by three sons and two loving daughters: Marliyn Kay Dennies, West Valley City: Patricia Lowe, Studio City, California; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by those who loved her. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 12:00 Noon, at Jordan View Ward, 1165 West 2320 South. Friends may Monday, 6-8 p.m., at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, and Tuesday at the church, 1 hour prior to services.

Interment: Redwood Memorial Estates. Thelma Sarah Beckstead Dansie Thelma Dansie, 86, passed away quietty at her Murray home on 19 August 1994. Born in Riverton, Utah to Alfred Ray and Sarah Webb Beckstead on 8 January 1908. Married Marvin England Danise on 20 April 1927 in the Salt Lake Temple. They celebrated a 67th wedding anniversary together prior to Marvin's passing away on 28 June 1994.

She served faithfully in many church callings in the LDS Church, including Primary President, Temple worker, Ward, Relief Society President. Theima's life portrayed the Relief Society theme "Charity Never She served her family, neighbors, friends and strangers unselfishly. Everyone who met her came away a better person. Her service extended to the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, PTA and hospital volunteer. Family came first.

Making a "house" a "home" was top priority. Sharing with others never stopped. Thousands of cards, letters and notes were penned her hand and sent to others. Every card included a thought or poem to brighten the recipient's day or a bouquet of flowers or a precious rose from her flower garden. The depression taught Thelma and Marvin the value of money, hard work and self sufficiency.

These lessons they pass on to their posterity. Preceded in death by her husband Marvin and grandson Tad Hendrickson. Survived by three daughters, Sarah Jean (James) Hendrickson, Elaine (Earl) Butterfield and Marva (Warren) Beck; two sons, Elbert M. (Shanna) Dansie and Gary (Judy) Dansie; 22 grandchildren, 26 greatgrandchildren; two sisters, Mada DeMill and Lova Allen; three brothers, Eidred, Neilo and Beckstead. 8 Wayne Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, 23 August 1994 at 12 noon, at the Little Cottonwood Ward (6410 South 725 East) in Murray).

Interment will be in the Riverton City Cemetery beside her husband. Virginia Dunton VIRGINIA- Virginia Katherine White Dunton, 82, of Virginia, died Friday August 19, at the home of her daughter in Virginia.

She was born September 20, 1911 in Donita, Oregon, a daughter of John S. and Little May Reese White. She grew up and was educated in Oregon, Utah and California. She married Eugene Franklin Pratt and they were later divorced. She married Harvey E.

Dunton, December 1, 1942 in the St. George LDS Temple. Mr. Dunton died in 1959. For the past 22 years she has resided in Virginia, Idaho.

She is survived by one son and his wife; David and Filomena Dunton of Brooklyn, New York; four daughters and husbands; Joyce and Jay Boyter of Beaver, utah; Audrey and Basil Gilger of Hurricane, Utah; Anna May and Wilford Honsvick of West Bountiful, Utah; Jennie and John 'Bill' Hart of Virginia; 24 grandchildren; and 61 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by five sisters; and two brothers. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 23, at 2:00 p.m. in the Paragonah, Utah LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the Marsh Valley Funeral Home in Arimo Monday from 7-9 p.m.

Joel Alan Fryer PRICE- Our beloved son, grandson, brother, husband, father, nephew, uncle, cousin and friend, Joel Alan Fryer, passed away on August 19, as a result of an automobile accident. Joel was born October 4, 1968 in Denver to Bert W. and Helen E. Cook Fryer.

He attended school at Wellington Elementary, Mont Harmon Jr. High and graduated from Carbon High in 1987. Joel worked as a ranch hand and as a mobile home set-up man in Las Vegas, Nevada. At the time of his death he worked at Community Motors in Price, Utah. Joel loved children, horses, country music (especially Reba), the outdoors and most of all being with the family.

He was loved by all who knew him and was known to tease everyone, his sisters especially. He is survived by his wife Angela, stepsons; Luke Pickett and Cody Foster of Shreveport, Louisiana; parents, Bert (Bill) and Helen Fryer of Price: grandparents, Mervin D. and Betty Cook of Wellington; sisters and brothers; Cynthia S. and Heather E. Fryer of Price; Cathy Stowe of Provo; Bert W.

Fryer Jr. of Arvada, and Shawn W. Fryer of Goiden, Colo. Also survived by mother-in-law, Kathy Britt of Shrieveport, Louisiana; and numerous aunts; uncles; cousins; nieces; and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 23, 1994 at 11:00 a.m.

in the Wellington 1st and 4th Ward Chapel. Friends may call Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary in Price and one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Wellington City Cemetery. We will always love and miss you.

Bertha Bernetta Reed Hayden Beloved mother, grandmother and friend, Bertha Beretta Reed Hayden, age 93, died August 18, 1994 in Walnut Creek, Calif. Born December 13, 1900 in Salt Lake City to Kate Biehl Rudy and Ira Allen Reed. Married Edward Joseph Hayden, April 29, 1935 in Salt Lake City; marriage later sealed in Salt Lake LDS Temple. He passed away January 9, 1970. Resided in Salt Lake City, Utah and San Francisco, until 1988.

Spent her remaining years with her son and his family in Walnut Creek, Calif. Member LDS Church, 26th Ward. Retired Captain of Adelia West Hoagland Camp, Daughters of Utah Pioneers. Retired Parliamentarian for Daughters of Utah Pioneers North West County Board. Preceded in death by her husband.

She is survived by her son, Edward J. Hayden, his wife, Diane C. Hayden and her granddaughter, Kathryn Caroi Hayden all of Walnut Creek, and numerous nieces and nephews in Utah. Her kindness to all, her pleasant smile and her long life have been an inspiration and an example to all. in her lifetime, the world went from horse and buggy to men on the moon, an exciting to have lived.

Viewing will be held Monday, August 22nd, from 11 a.m.- 12 noon at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple. Graveside services at 12:30 p.m. at Salt Lake City Cemetery. Lawrence William Garcia WEST VALLEY CITY- Lawrence William Garcia died August 18, 1994 after a long illness. Born September 30, 1951 in Tocele, Utah to Juan D.

and Connie Ortega Garcia. Graduate of Keams High, 1970. Served in Vietnam. Survived by son, Paul, Salt Lake City, daughters: Danielle, Burbank, Calif; and Lawren and Vanessa of Lancaster, mother, Connie Hostetter of West Valley City: father, Juan Garcia of Salt Lake City, brother, Jay of Quartz Hill, sisters: Dawna and Craig Ramsey, Riverton; Debbie and Steve Of son, West Valley, Alisa K. Garcia, Salt Lake City.

Helen Mae Talbert Hesselgesser ELKO, Nevada- Helen Mae Talbert Hesselgesser, passed away August 19, 1994 in Reno, Nevada. Born to Sherman and Frances Talbert in Abraham, Utah on September 20, 1919.

She is survived by husband, John Robert Hesselgesser, Elko; sons: Don Robert Hesselgesser, Fallon, Nevada; John Dee Hesselgesser, Sparks, Nevada; Harry Sherman Hesselgesser, Albany, daughter, Darlene Eichler Wyllie, Elko, Nevada; sister, Wilma Martin, Los Angeles, brother, Sherman Tolbert, Abraham, Utah; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. Memorial service will be held at Burns Funeral Home, Elko, Nevada at 2:00 8 p.m. Wednesday, a August 24, 1994. Frank N. Hudelson Frank Norbert Hudelson, age 29, died August 19, 1994, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

He was loved by all who knew him and recognized immediately for his happy, and enthusiastic manner. He will be greatly missed by his many friends in the Emigration Second Ward. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and a dedicated genealogist. He is survived by his parents, John and Hanni Hudelson of Cary, North Carolina; a sister, Anita of Houston, Texas; and a brother, Robert, serving with the U.S. Navy in Japan.

A graveside service will be held Monday morning at 10:00 a.m. at the Salt Lake City Cemetery. Under the direction of Larkin Mortuary. Milton C. Iverson Milton Carlos Iverson, 92, died Aug.

19, 1994 in Salt Lake City. Born July 10, 1902, Salt Lake City, Utah, a son of Moroni Carlos and Edith Taylor Iverson. Married Agnes Woods, Feb. 9, 1923, Salt Lake City. Member of L.D.S.

Church, High Priest in the Winder 11th Ward; former scoutmaster, past president of Utah Petroleum Association; member Gyro International. Survivors include his wife; son, Milton C. Iverson, Jr. (Joan) of Aurora, Colorado; sister-in-law, Ruth W. Loveland of Salt Lake; one grandson, Kevin Reed Iverson (Scotty); a great granddaughter, Lisa, all of Englewood, Colorado; beloved nieces, Barbara (Mrs.

822 Burton Mahlum Burton Mahlum, left this world for a better place in Heaven on August 18, 1994. I was born on May 31, 1925, son of Olaf and Olga Johnson Mahlum. Married Delores Hansen in La Crosse, Wisconsin on April 29, 1947. We moved to Salt Lake City in 1955, where I worked for Utah Mobile Homes, Interstate Homes and Ryder Truck Rental. I am a member of St.

Darlene Jensen Darlene Jensen, died August 18, 1994 in a Salt Lake Hospital of a heart ailment. She was born February 17, 1928 in Tooele, Utah, to Frank Melvin and Claudia Vera Kizer Shields. Married Alan Jensen in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was active in the LDS Church, having served as Young Women's president, Primary chorister and Relief Society chorister and teacher, and adult Sunday School teacher. Darlene was always improving herself, she was creative, and loved to ailment.

Measom SPANISH FORK- Lenore Francis Meason, 92, passed away Friday, August 19, 1994 in Spanish Fork, Utah. She was born in Lake Shore, Utah, November 2, 1901 the tenth child of Joseph and Annie Gardner Francis. She married Jennings (Ty) Measom on December 20, 1922, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He passed away in 1969. They were the parents of seven children.

She spent her entire life in Lake Shore in service to her family, the church and the community. She loved music and together with her sister, Verda, sang at many funerals, and social functions. She loved serving and cooking and taught through example the value of hard work and service fo others. She served in many church capacities, and worked in the Provo Temple for many years. She is survived by two sons and four daughters; Job (Louise) Measom, Salem; Kent (Connie) Measom, Pleasant Grove; Francis (Glade) Stone, Spanish Fork; Lorna (Harry) Davis, Salem; June (Lynn) Houtz, Mapleton; Dee Ann (Sterling) Swenson, Spanish Fork; two sisters; Verda Tuckett, and Rosie Anderson, both of Lake Shore: 34 grandchildren; and many great and greatgreat-grandchildren; one son, Rex J.

Mori, age 58, of Reston, Virginia, formerly of Magna, Utah, passed away at her home in Reston on Saturday, August 6, 1994 af- Dorothy Boer Nuismer Dorothy Boer Nuismer died August 19. 1994 at the age of 86 in Salt Lake City. Born June 29, 1908 in The Netherlands. She moved to Chicago, Illnois in 1911 with her family.

There she married Ralph J. Nuismer in 1937, and raised her two sons. She and Ralph moved to Salt Lake City in 1975 to be near their two sons and their families. She was a wonderful wife and mother. Dorothy is survived by her husband, two sons, four grandchildren, and three sisters.

Utah to James G. and Anna Belle Alfred Sorensen. He married Bernice Okerlund October 31, 1924 in Richfield, Utah. He farmed for many years and loved horses. was a member of the Salina Riding Club.

He was a rider for the Cattlemen's Association. He is one of the last survivors of the Salina Champion Baseball Team. He and his wife attended all of the North Sevier High School Basketball Games. Survivors include his wife, Bernice; and four sons: Bry of Salt Lake City: Dent (Smokey) of Salina; Nard of Salt Lake City: and Ted of Moab; ten grandchildren; 13 great and one great-great-grandchild; brother, Tad, living in Idaho: and Mrs. Zell Steele, Richfield.

Douglas "Pete" Thomsen Douglas Thomsen, age 86 died August 20, 1994 in Salt Lake City at his home. Born November 18, 1907, Salt Lake City to Peter Christian Kilian and Selma Christina Oberg Thomsen. Married Eilen Lucile McCleery October 13. 1930 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She preceded him in death on April 7, 1980.

Married Minnie Patten October 15, 1983 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was active member of the LDS Church, having served in the Danish Mission from 1927-1929. He served as Bishop of the Richards Ward and in the High Council of the Sugarhouse Stake. He served in many other callings in the church during his lifetime. He loved sports, was an excellent golfer.

He worked as a Probate Clerk with Salf Lake County for over 40 years, during which time he made many friendships and professional contacts. His number one priority in his life was that of his family.
