station KJZZ (Ch 14) an affiliate of the newly created Paramount Television Network Paramount Communications Inc three weeks ago announced its intention to launch a fifth television network in January 1995 with Chris-Craft Industries Inc which owns broadcast properties nationwide The deal with Mr Miller was agreed upon in principle during the weekend and finalized Monday when the station owner signed the three-year pact in Hawaii He and executives of his large Intermountain business empire are attending the annual Larry Miller managers retreat Paramount ill provide its affiliates the lat agreement calls for Paramount to provide an additional hour of programming daily during fringe time 3-5 pm Monday through Friday Then in 1997 the contracts third and final year Paramount will provide affiliates a third two-hour night of prime-time viewing At the expiration of the contract Mr Miller has the option of extending the pact or ending it In either case KJZZ will continue to receive Star Trek: Voyager series if the station desires it From January 1998 on Paramount plans to expand its scheduling to five nights a week plus a late night broadcast from 11 pm to midnight Under the terms of the agreement KJZZ must identify itself as a Paramount Television Network affiliate starting in September Paramounts network plan gives it a reliable new outlet for its programs and formalizes a
