Moond elM manat is Gospel New harness adonis the team of bays and the entire outfit is both unique and at tractive new acquisition is the result of the untiring efforts of Rev Hall assisted by contributions of gen erous friends to bis cause Quite a number from Blanchester and vicinity were called to Wilming ton last Tuesday as witnesses in the divorce and alimony case of Mary Marshall against Marshall The case has attracted much attention in the community on account of the fam ily and some attending features The plaintiff was before marriage Miss Mary Quinby daughter of an old family of Clermont County and a sis ter to Miss Anna Quinby who has attained some local notoriety as a tem perance worker and active member of the The defendant Thomas Marshall is known as a most sober industrious and honorable citi zen of West ood ville The domestic trouble between these parties has ex isted some time resulting in Court ac tion and public notoriety The hus band went so far at one time as to have an inquest of lunacy held on the wifq in Probate Court at Wilmington she being for a time held in the county jail and later discharged She tljen succeeded in obtaining a temporary de cree of alimony against the husband who has been required to pay same for some months past Monday the trou ble was given a genuine airing in the Court at Wilmington before Judge Clark of Lebanon who has not as yet rendered a decision It was indeed an affecting scene to see and hear the six children in Court as witnesses rang ing in ages from nine to twenty one years of age all seemingly arrayed against the mother The history of a once happy home now wrecked from domestic strifes and struggles was given to a crowd of eager listeners Nothing equal has been heard in the Court room for yean It was quite evident that the Judge was seriously moved and took the case under ad Republican here Monday evening from San Anto nio Texas with the body of their lit tle daughter who died there suddenly Mrs Charles Allen fell with a step ladder at the home of her mother last Wednesday and was seriously injured The body of Martin Harris a bache lor brother of Harris arrived Wednesday from Montana The fune ral was held Thursday and burial in Sabina cemetery The fact that the corn is blown down so badly this season makes it very dif ficult to harvest it with machinery but at the same time it is difficult to cut it by hand so the machine is not entirely cut out Corn is down the worst ever but may be the price will stay up Wednesday afternoon at the home of the bride Thomas Groves County Surveyor of ayette County was join ed in marriage with Miss Adna daugh ter of Caleb erguson residing north of Record WESTBORO Jesse Garner and wife visited in the city a fewdays last week Miss has returned from a visit to her parents at Denver Mrs Weyler and son spent a few days last week with her mother at Goshen Mrs Deck Mrs Johnston and Mrs Wood of this place Mrs Leeka there will be no difficulty in securing the strip of land required As soon as the nght of way is cleared up in the territory now being visited a Wil mington committee in connection with Mr ay will begin work at that end It is hoped that no undue delay will be experienced as the building of the road is said to depend absolutely upon the securing of the right of way promptly and without unreasonable restriction Parents whose children attend the Snow Hill school are a great deal ag itated on account of an epidemic of throat trouble accompanied by serious complications that appear to be due to the drinking water from the well ad jacent to the school building It ap pears that this is a drive well and that there is some sort of a white substance in the water which Boats npon the sur face It is thought that this foreign ingredient is responsible for the sick ness as only those who have been drinking the water are affected The sore throat which appears to be the most serious symptom is attended by a breaking out of the lips and in some instances followed by severe headache and high fever A number of children are out of school at the present time on this BEECH GROVE Charley Ames is seriously sick with typhoid fever George Crouse and family of near Wilmington spent Sunday with John Urton and family Mrs Emma Moore is in the hospital in Columbus operated on for a tumor Sho is improving as well as spent last week in New Vienna and while there Mr Chaney rented a farm and will re move to it at once He has been em ployed for the past several years In Sabina as a harness maker Colfax Haines sold his home place Wednesday to Levi Custis The farm consists of thirty acres and the price paid was $3500 Possession will be given in January when Mr Haines expects to leave for Oklahoma where ie will make his home Dr Lightner returned from his California trip last Thursday and re ports a most pleasant time While there he met several Clinton County people among whom were Verne Moore who has a responsible position in San rancisco also Milt Curtis and Marvin Higgins formerly Sabina people and Minnie Johns and Gene Hadley of Wilmington The doctor was in two wrecks one of which was hair raising Wayne Township has the champion stock grower of Clinton County and one of the best in Ohio we would ven ture in the person of Sampson Grove The past week he delivered to Jacob Needy of Allegheny City 425 head of hogs averaging 225 pounds at a fancy price This is the finest lot of hogs ever placed upon the Sabina market by any one Dr and Mrs Sodden arrived MIDLAND Homer Harper has gone to Chicago to attend medical college Mrs Emma Wickersham and daugh ter Lora Drake were shopping in Blan chester Wednesday Mr and Mrs Martin Kennedy are entertaining friends from Columbus for a hour she got hold of the gasoline can by mistake and poured some of the fluid in the stove when there followed an explosion and blew things random As it was Mrs bands were burned and her hair singed Martin Hilsheimer the old gentle man whom every one in town knew as the genial railroad crossing watchman died at the Langfritz Hotel on Satur day morning September 24 The de ceased was born at Longeheim just across from Hopenheim Germany June 7 1833 and was past seventy one years of age at the time of his death He served twelve years and eight months in the German army coming to America June 14 1864 He was for a number of years in the employ of the 8 Co at Chillicothe and Madisonville before coming to Blanchester Rev John Hall attended by a number of his congregation appeared on the work of securing right of way for the Wilmington Hillsboro traction line has been prosecuted vigorously and with gratifying results during the past week Already a number of large land owners on the line of the Wil mington and New Vienna pike have signed' options granting the desired right of way Nearly every interested property owner north for a distance of seven miles has been seen regarding white were prettily carried out throughout the house The guests assembled in the yard of the cozy home and promptly at 5 to the strains of the wedding march played by Mrs Susie Moryand Miss Edith Sliker the young people stepped to the vine covered porch where a few impressive words by Rev Pretlow made them man and wife The pretty bride wore a dainty dress of white with roses in her dark hair Immediately after the ceremony all were invited to the dining rooms where an elegant three course supper was served after which the happy couple received the congratulations of their friends and a pleasant social evening was enjoyed by all Many beautiful and useful presents were received The young couple left the same even ing for a few visit at the air and on their return will make their home
