got rolling it was only 'a matter of hpw big the score would mount as they ripped the visiting Ranger Junior College Rangers by a 27-0 count Saturday night at RE St John Memorial Stadium A Billy Chester at the 15 and Chester faked out' a couple of Ranger defenders to wait in for the touchdown Tackle Pat Murphy converted to put Kilgore oh top by 7-0 Following the kickoff Rnger went to from the fabulous Rangerettes who combined with the Ranger band and high school bands from Kil LUBBOCK Tx (AP) Edd Hargett passed for three touchdowns and scored a fourth on the final play of the game Saturday night as Texas Came from behind to beat Texas Tech 28-24 In a madcap Southwest Conference football contest Hargett got the winning touchdown on a 15-yard dash after he first dropped back to pass and failed to find a receiver The play opened with- three seconds on the clock and found Hargett going down the middle and then angling for the right corner It was a 59 yard drive The victory was the first in five decisions for Texas and squared its (Southwest Conference record st 1 1 The loss wss the first in conference play for Tech end evened Its season record at 2-2 and conference record
