of the Wisconsin Statutes of 1975 as amended on the 1978 Budget has been held beforethe Common Council of the City of Portage as of December 8 1977 pursuant to Notice previously given in the manner required by such law NOW THEREFORE be it hereby resolved by the Common-Council of the City of Portage Columbia County Wisconsin: 1 That the Budget for the year 1978 as printed and attached hereto and made a part hereof shall be and it is hereby adopted 2 For the purposes set forth in said Budget for the year 1978 there shall and there is hereby levied against all of the taxable property in said City of Portage an irrepealable tax of Two-Million Five-Hundred-Sixty-T(wo Thousand One-Hundred Fifty Dollars and Sixty-Four Cents ($256215064) That such levy includes the sum of One-Million four hundred and three thousand nine hundred eighty-one dollars and thirty-three cents ($140398133) included in Resolution No 3182 enacted by the Fiscal Board for the Portage Community Schools on August 18 1977 3 That said tax be spread upon the tax roll for 1977 and is at the rate hereby determined of 5600 mills on every dollar of assessed valuation in said City of Portage 4 That the unexpended balance of the 1977 Budget as applicable be and they are hereby allocated to income for the year 1978 5 That the unexpended balance of the General Fund be and it hereby allocated appropriated and transferred to the contingent fund and that all surplus as determined by the Common Council of the City of Portage has been used as set forth in said attached Budget to reduce the amount to be raised prior to the Hearing on the 1978 City Budget was called to order by Mayor Francis Riley on December 8th 1977 at 6:30 PM Present were Council Members Department Heads and representatives of the news media Clerk read the Notice of Public Hearing and stated that the notice had been published in the Portage Daily Register on November 22nd 1977 After all persons indicating a desire to speak on the Budget had RELATIVE TO EDGERTON LANDS WHEREAS Minna Edgerton is the owner of certain lands located in Outlot 127 126 136 and 140 of the Assessor's Subdivision City of Portage Columbia County Wisconsin AND WHEREAS the aforesaid Minna Edgerton in person or by agent retained John Hamel Registered Land Surveyor No S-849 of Portage Wisconsin to prepare a certified survey of a portion of said lands the same being-called Lot 1 2 3 and 4 AND WHER EAS the aforesaid Minna Edgerton has submitted to the Plan Commission of the City of Portage a certified survey of the entire area involved such survey being dated November 16 1977 a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof AND WHEREAS the City Plan Commission did unanimously recommend on December 1 1977 that such certified survey be adopted pursuant to Section 23634 of the Wisconsin Statutes AND WHEREAS funds have been paid to the City Treasurer for the building lots so involved as required by the Revised Code of General Ordinances for Plat City of Portage Columbia County Wisconsin AND WHER EAS the aforesaid Daniel O'Connor has retained John Hamel Registered Land Surveyor No S-849 of Portage Wisconsin tti prepare a certified survey of said lands the same being called Lots 1 2 and 3 on 'such certified survey AND WHEREAS the aforesaid John Hamel has submitted to he Plan Commission of the City of Portage a certified survey of the such certified survey be adopted pursuant to Section 23634 of the Wisconsin Statutes AND WHEREAS such certified survey restructures several existing lots into larger lots which takes into consideration a vacation of a portion of Clark Street that the size of the lots being created exceeds the minimums required by the City of Portage for R-3 Single and Two-Family Zoning in that area that as a result since it is a restructuring of the existing lots whereby a lesser number of lots are recreated rather than a larger number of lots the fee required by the Revised Code of General Ordinances is hereby released and is not required of the applicant AND THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the certified survey dated October 20 1977 be and it is hereby accepted by the Common Council of the City of Portage on behalf of said City as of this date BE IT HEREBY FURTHER RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Portage that the City Clerk be and she is hereby authorized to
