Miss Turnbaugh's and Mrs. Crooke's sixth grade homerooms will sing the following: Holly Jolly Christmas, Silver Bells, Winter Wonderland, White Christmas, The Christmas Song, and Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree. There will also be a vocal solo by Stephanie Cusatis. Girls from the sixth grade will perform several jazz dances and a tap dance. The elementary instrumental students will perform: St.

Nick's on the Housetop, TwoHanukkah Songs, and Jingle Bells. There will also be a violin trio playing Hark the Herald Angels Sing and Silver Bells. The junior high instrumental ensemble will perform Christmas Carol March, Christmas Overture, Let It Snow, Festive Christmas and Frosty the Snowman. Also included will be piano selections by Matthew Pogar. The program will conclude with the sixth grade homerooms of Mrs.

Chuckra and Mr. Petrone singing Frosty the Snowman, Silent Night, Santa Claus is Coming to Town, 12 Days of Christmas, Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer, Jingle Bells, and a vocal solo, Holy Night, by Shelley Hydock. The participating sixth-graders are Samantha Kuntz, Larry Gliem, Thomas Evanko, Paul Toruno, Luis Collado, Jose Solano, Alicia Tobias, John Caputo, Brad Blanner, Sam Brown, Amanda Thomas, Heather Clifford, Jenesis Moreta, Carta Valenia, Anthony Postupack, Frank Koziol, Alex Fedunchak. Also, Tiffany Clifford, John Sheaman, Amanda Peel, Ashley Reimiller, Andrea Valovich, Holy Spirit Academy students will present their Christmas programs on Wednesday for preschool through first grades, and Thursday for grades two to six. The first program is Hark the Herald Angels Sing. Preschool classes will sing Come, Little Children. A fingerplay, Santa's Elves, will be performed followed by the poem What Christmastime Means and the song The Little Drummer Boy. Kindergarteners will recite the poems, Symbols of Christmas and My Gift, the songs will be The Angels Band and Joy to the World.

The first-graders will spelldown, Christmas Dolls, sing, Nuttin'for Christmas, and Away in a Manger. The students will also recite First Christmas. The second program is Here We Come A-Caroling. The second-graders will sing the songs, Must Be Santa and Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree, and recite Gifts I'd Give at Christmas. The third-graders will recite The Last Christmas Tree, and 'Twas the Night Before Christmas.

The students will sing The Bobsled Song. Fourth-graders will perform the nativity scene, Glory to God on High, and Joy to the World. Fifth-graders will perform The Legend of the Star, and sing, Star of Bethlehem. The sixth-graders will perform Seeking the Light of Christ, and sing 0 Come, 0 Come Emmanuel, 0 Come All Ye Faithful and Silent Night. Kennedy, Amanda C. Lara, John J. In uniform Marine Pvt. Edward P. Koch, son of Marlene J.

and Paul A. Koch Jr. of R.R. 1, Tamaqua, will spend the holidays at Okinawa, Japan, with the 2nd Battalion, 8th Marines. Koch is one of more than 65,000 sailors, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen who are serving the country overseas.

Koch graduated from Tamaqua Area High School in 1997 and enlisted in the Marine Corps in June 1997. Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Martin J. Wydra, son of Martin A. and Loretta Wydra, of R.R. 2, Wapwallopen, has departed on a six-month deployment to the Mediterranean Sea and Arabian Gulf with Fighter Squadron 32 aboard the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise.

Wydra is one of more than 10,000 Atlantic Fleet sailors and Marines serving this holiday season on ships of the Enterprise Battle Group and USS Nassau Amphibious Ready Group (ARG). The battle group and ARG are comprised of 10 surface combatants, two submarines, 10 aircraft squadrons and a Marine Expeditionary Unit. Fighter Squadron 32 is equipped with the F-14B Tomcat, a twin-engine supersonic fighter. Wydra graduated from Columbia Montour High School at Bloomsburg in 1989 and joined in the Navy in June 1989. Author to sign books at Wal-Mart Local author Denise Daniels will sign copies of her novel Love's Legacy at the Hazleton Wal-Mart Supercenter Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m.
