Seitz who has been in the territory the past six months, chief of survey for the Muskogee Western left this morning for his home at Ottawa, Ohio. Father John, one of the popular and well known priests of the territory, who has been severeilly ill at Oklahoma City with typhord fever, is reported much improved in health. Mr. A. McElrath and a friend will leave for the Concharty mountains for a hunt of a few weeks.

It will be remembered that McElrath and a party of friends went hunting last winter and their prolonged absence created considerable excitement, ininasmuch as none of their friends heard from them in all the time they were absent. The Kendall foot ball team played yesterday with the Armstrong Academy team at Caddo. The score stood when the game ended 22 to 0 in favor of Kendall. The boys returned this morning. All persons who can entertain delegates to the statehood convention, are requested to communicate with N. A.

Jones and family have moved to this city from Salisaw, and are now living near the 0. K. wagon yard, east side. Rev. Jones is pastor of the Cumberland Presbyterian church, this city.

This denomination now worships in the W. C. T. U. hall, east side, and will continue to do so until they build a new church, which may be within the next twelve months.

Opera House, All Next Week. The Kellar stock company, who hold the boards at the opera house every night next week, will present as their opening bill Monday night the four-act comedy-drama, "Dolly Gray," interspersed with specialties during the action of the play and between acts. The plays to be given during the week are "My Dreadful Daddy," Galley Slave," "Reddy, the Mail Girl," "Roanoke," "'A Pair of Lunatics," Soldier's Sweetheart," and, as is customary with attractions of this class, Monday will be ladies' free night- one lady, if accompanied by an escort with one paid reserved seat ticket, will be admitted free if reserved before 7 p.m. Monday at Ben Estes' drag store. This company comes well recommended.

THE DELEGATES WILL BE CHOSEN. Call for a Meeting to Elect Delegates to Single Statehood Convention. By authority of a meeting of citizens assembled at the United States court house on November 2, 1901, and in pursuance of general call issued October 16, 1901, a meeting is hereby called to be held in Muskogee, I. on the 9th day of November, 1901, at 8 o'clock p. at the United States court house, to elect delegates and alternates who favor single statehood to attend the convention to be held in the city of Muskogee on the 14th day of November, 1901, at 2 o'clock p.m., for the purpose of discussing the subject of single statehood, and to take steps, as the wisdom of the convention may deem necessary, to bring about the desired end.

The apportionment for the city of Muskogee is one delegate for each thousand population, or the major part thereof. WILLIAM T. HUTCHINGS, Chairman. Death of Mrs. Cornelia Stafford, Mrs.

Cornelia Stafford, mother of Mrs. N. F. Hancock, this city, died at the Hancock residence last night at 11:30, at the age of 74. Her death was caused by a fracture of the femur in the, hip joint, an injury she sustained about two weeks ago.

The deceased came to Muskogee about five years ago from North Carolina, since which time she has made her home with her daughter. During the time of her stay here she made many friends. She was a woman who always made friends and retained them. She was possessed of great strength of character and 8 splendid education, which she utilized in disseminating intelligence and happiness through her life. She was until recent years always active in educational work, and her bright mind lost none of its clearness through the accumulation of years.

She was a womanly woman withal, a loving mother, and one who made people better for having known her. The funeral services were held at the residence of Mr. N. F. Hancock at 2:80 p.

Many friends of the deceased followed the remains of this noble woman to their last resting-place, and her memory will be kept green in the hearts of those who knew her and loved her.
