Edelman Recites Vows At Penn Alto Miss Helen Cazen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Cazen, Seventh avenue, and Jack Fidel. man, son of Mr. and Mrs.

Simon Edelman, Mt. Vernon, N. were united in marriage yesterday at 5. m. in the Logan room of the Penn Alto Rabbi Elihu Michelson, spiritual leader of the Agudath Achim synagogue, officiated at the rites in the ballroom setting, with palms, ferns and flowers for deeorations.

Miss Marie Rodky's instrumental trio played the dinner music. The recepticn followed the wedding and the dinner- the reception, all in the Logan room. The bride, given in marriage by her parents, was attractive in a gold satin suit with brown accessories and a hand corsage of orchids. Attending the bride was her cousin, Miss Shirley Paikin, attired in a beige dress. The best man was the bridegroom's brother.

Louis Edelman. The bridal pair left for a honeymoon trip last evening. The couple will reside at the home of the bride. The bridegroom is employed by Sky Brothers. The bride was graduated from the Altoona High school, attended Altcona School of Cummerce and is employed by the department of public assistance.

Church Class Is Entertained The Wide Awake class of the Greenwood United Brethren church was entertained Friday evening at a Christmas party at the home of Mrs. Elizabeth O'Donnell, Greenwood. Mrs. Hester Taylor is the teacher of the class. Mrs.

O'Donnell and her sister, Mrs. Gertrude Troutman a lunch Secret sisters were revealed in the gift exchange, and new names were drawn. Owing to the illness of the president, Mrs. Allen Miller, the business session postponed the election of officers. Those present were: Mrs.

Taylor, Mrs. Troutman, Martha Kelley, Edith Winey, Esther Shellenberger, Helen Soykie. Ruth Peck, Maxine Perry, Grace Eisenhart, Margaret Boyles, Ethel Van Zandt. Thelma Legsberry, Violet Gill, Pearl McNanamy, Ada Figart, Edith Schneier. Elizabeth O'Donnell and Marian Perry.

New Arrival Keeps Tradition in Family When the Robert Lee Buntgarners, 716 S. Eighth street, welcomed their first child, Robert Lee, Christmas day, his arrival marked a family tradition for December 25 birthdays, his grandfather and great-grandfather also having been born on the feast of the Nativity. Robert Lee ivas born at Altoona hospital. Prior to her marriage, mother was Miss Maxine Baker. It was her father, Blair A.

Baker, 716 South Eighth street, and her grandfather, Abraham Gisewhite, Tyrone, who were a also born on Christmas day. The baby's father, Robert Lee Bumgarner, who served In the Pacific theater of operations during the recent war, is now employed by the PRR. Both mother and baby are getting along nicely. Janet R. Bane Repeats Vows In Pretty Church Service Janet Robinson Bane, daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. J. Edgar Robinson, 1503 Ninth street, became the bride of Jchn Timothy Crimens, son of Mrs. Edward Crimens. Fredonia, N.

at 12:30 p. m. yesterday in the First Presbyterian church. The bride's pastor, the Rev. Dr.

Walter Lowrie Ritter, officiated at the double-ring ceremony. Mrs. L. M. Nugent, organist, played traditional wedmusic, and accompanied Gins, Phyllis Bland, cousin of the bride, for the singing of "From All the World I've Chosen You" and White flowers and ferns a added to the Christmas decorations, beautified the church.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, was lovely in a traveling suit of wine with winterwhite accessories and a corsage of white gardenias. The bride's attendant was her triend. Following a dinner and reception at the Penn Alto hotel, the couple left for points east for their honeymoon.

They will reside in Fredonia, N. Y. He is a law student at the University of Buffalo. The bride was graduated from the Altoona High school, and tended Gettysburg college. He graduated from the Frewas donia State Teachers college and attended the University of Missouri.

He spent three years and ten months in the Coast Artiliery, Anti-Aircraft. Gleaner Class Enjoys Party The annual Christmas party of the Gleaner Class of the Eighth Avenue Methodist church school was held recently at the home of the class teacher, Mrs. C. S. Batton, 715 Crawford avenue.

Worship was in charge of Louise Bertram, who read a portion of Luke II, and presented Christmas story to the class entitled "The Christmas Child." The group sang carols. A nominating committee was appointed. Gifts were exchanged. and Mrs. Mildred McKillip for the class presented a gift to the teacher.

The next meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Louise Bertram, 821 avenue rear. After the business meeting a lunch was served by the hostess. Those present were: Mrs. Dorothy Augenbaugh, Mrs.

Louise Bertram, Mrs. Alma Chilcote, Mrs. Helen Dreese, Mrs. Flora Garner, Mrs. Mildred McKillip, Miss Ruth Patterson, Mrs.

She is a graduate of Tyrone High school, class of 1938 and is employed in New York City as a photograph model.

The president, Mrs. C. B. Earhart, will preside. Miss Albright Becomes Bride In Church Rite Miss Helen Louise Albright, daughter of James A.

Albright, 1319 First avenue, and George b. Hall, Philadelphia, were united in marriage at 1:30 p. m. Saturday in the Old First Evangelical United Brethren church. the single ring ceremony was performed by Dr.

George R. Strayer, pastor. Pete Baker sang "Oh Promise Me," and "I Love You Truly," accompanied by Mrs. Helen Morrison, who also played "Because," "The Rosary" and "Intermezzo." The bride, given in marriage by her father, was lovely in a light grey street length crepe dress with black accessories and a corsage of white roses. The attendants were Mr.

and Mrs. Paul W. Groff, Lancaster, sister and brother-in-law of the bride. She was attired in a pink wool street length dress with matching accessories and a corsage of talisman roses. The couple left for a honeymoon in New York.

They will reside in Philadelphia. He is attending General Motors Salesmen School in Philadelphia. The bride was graduated from Altoona High school and has been in the employ of Quality Cleaners, Oxford, Pa. The bridegroom served years in the army air corps as a gunner, overseas in Africa, along the Mediterranean coast, in the Rhineland, and flew ammunition to the infantry in the Belgian Battle of the Bulge in the Ardennes forest. Teresa Steinbeiser and Mrs. Joseph Spangle. Holiday Fete Held By RVA A surprise holiday party in the lodge room of the P. O. S.

of A. Hall was enjoyed Tuesday afternoon by members and children, Brooks J. Brubaker, post 267, Regular Veterans Association. About 150 persons were present, including 60 children, who surrounded the large Christmas tree, making a picture typical of America's Christmas of today. Contrary to the usual, after Santa Claus had given several gifts to the children, he found enough gifts in his bag to go around for the adults.
