Roll-off Dumpsters Basile, Louisiana Thursday, October 10, 2013 Home of the Swine Festival Home of the Bearcats Where Evangeline, Acadia, St. Landry, and Jeff Davis meet Your hometown newspaper since 1964 Basile Weekly The Basile Bearcats travel to South Cameron Friday night BHS PEP RALLY SCENES- Spirit is flying high at Basile High School this football season as the Bearcat football team is undefeated at 5-0 heading into Friday game at South Cameron High School. With a number four ranking in the Class 1A state polls, BHS has much to be proud of this season. The spirit, however, goes beyond the football field and is witnessed at the weekly pep rallies held at 2:45 p.m. on game day in the school gym.

Cultural Vistas magazine Lundon LeDoux crowned Tournoi Queen Lundon LeDoux, a Basile High School senior and a former Miss Teen Basile, was recently crowned Tournoi Queen in Ville Platte. She will reign over the running of the Tournoi on Sunday, October 20 as part of the La. Cotton Festival and will represent the event at the next Queen of Queens Pageant. The new Tournoi Queen is the daughter of Shelly and Kyle LeDoux of Basile. She will also be crowned BHS Homecoming Queen October 25.

Basile annexes Acadia properties By: Darrel LeJeune, Editor The Basile Town Council annexed three pieces of property Tuesday night during its regularly-scheduled October meeting. The properties are in Acadia Parish and include the Maybrier property adjacent to the Exxon, the St. Augustine Church property, and the Mark and DeEtte Denette property. Prior to the meeting, comments were heard from the public and council members concerning annexation and the possibility of annexing other properties near those being brought into the town at this time.
