Those from which the greatest number have come to settle In the Golden State are the following: New York, 54, 588; Illinois, 42, 304; Missouri, Ohio, Iowa, Pennsylvania, 25,283. The total from these six States make nearly half of the residents of California born in other States and territories Almost three-fourths are from these six and the seven other States shown below.
