They claim the aerosol is superior. He claims it's inferior. "The development of aerosol propellant provided a fine leak- proof spray, but it has three serious drawbacks," Cournand said. His aerosol - backing foes don't agree. "First," he said, "the propellant changes the fragrance noticeably. Second, the propellant is explosive. If a woman uses it while she or someone close to her is smoking, it could be dangerous. "Third, because it is explosive, you can use it only in a metal or strong opaque plastic container. One cannot see how much is left in the vial." Pondering the problem, Cournand said he remembered that fountain pen people had problems in the early days of high altitude airline travel. Pens leaked as air pressure rose. But somehow the problem w a s solved. So Cournand took his problem of making better perfume atomizers to an engineer for a fountain pen company and to a surgical supply house engineer. "Between them," he said, "they came up with natural spray. It is purely mechanical: it does not leak. It makes a fine spray such as surgeons use in the operating room, and the fra grance is not diluted. No explo sive propellant is added." Skin Lubricants Made To Fill Individual Need Skin lubricants, like milk, come in different forms for the individual need. People who are too thin may drink cream in some form to gain weight, while others are likely to drink whole milk for nourishment. Similarly, you should think of your skin as having individual diet requirements when you choose a lubricant. Lubricants supply essential oils to a dry skin, smoothing texture and minimizing lines. Just smooth it on and forget about it while you do something else— Relax in a steamy, fragrant bubble bath, give yourself a manicure, or scan a fashion magazine. It's really fun to allow yourself a half hour a day for beauty, and your complexion deserves it. A balanced formula of thee essentia! oil groups, this golden fluid gives the mature, dry skin the greatest lubrication possible. Special Formula Concentrate has a cream-form "cousin" in Special Formula Emollient for those women who prefer their lubricant served up like whipped cream. Lack of sleep, improper diet, or nerves will very often cause a dry skin condition in younger women. The woman in her early 30's or -10's will uelcome Super Rich Cream which will supply as much valuable sustenance to the dry skin as light cream will to a hungry kitten. It is a lubricator in cream form which smooths onto the face easily. Because of this remarkably easy! application, it is especially good} for the thin-textured, fine-lined dry skin. The moment it touches the surface it liquefies into a light, transparent film that gently helps to correct the dry condition. Velvet Texture Lotion, like whole milk, is the lightest of the three. It gives a mild, lubricating diet to the sensitive skin and the young skin that gets dry and chapped from superficial causes — such as wintry winds and steam-heated rooms. This lotion does a disappearing act upon application, leaving the face wondrously smooth and feeling ever so pampered.
