These tickets will he sold for the regular train leaving Petaluma at 9:32 a. and leave Sebastopol on the return trip at 5.00 p. m. The general committee of arrangements for the V. P.

-Smith learned Saturday afternoon on investigating- a report that two men of the hay baling crew working at Cotati had thrashed another man, that the man that was thrashed had used vile language in the presence of women, and had refused to discontinue his remarks when told to do so. Because of this he was given a severe thrashing. The thrashed man had no desire of having the men arrested that had whipped him, because he was made to realize that he was badly in the wrong himself. Besides the largest industrial and livestock exhibits, jQ the biggest purses and best races, the program includes: fU 9 CAR DERAILED Car No. 53 of the Petaluma Santa Rosa Railway, which was due to pass the court house for Sebastopol at 10:05 Monday night met with a mislmp at the Exchange avenue switch, Santa Rosa, which caused a delay for some time, and disat ranged the running time of the other cars oil the line badly. The rear trucks of the car split the switch aud took the siding, while the front trucks were on the main line. As a result the car turned across the track and twisted the truck from under the car. Tile car was powerless to move itself, but a crowd soon gathered and when it was seen how matters stood a score or more of men put their shoulders to the wheel and gradually worked it backwards until it was finally on the main line.

The air brakes, which had been set when the liiotorman felt the car going wrong, could not he released until tht car was returned to the main line, which made the task all the more difficult.
