PAGE 20-pacific DAILY NEWS WEDNESDAY MARCH 22 1972 Munoz Outlines Little League Plans Plans are being finalized for the 1972 Far East Little League Elimination Tournament which will be held on Guam this year probably beginning towards the end of July Captain Ben Munoz of the Dept Of Public Safety and also the District Administrator for the Guam Little League says a bid has been released for the construction of a baseball stadium at the Paseo De Susana which will seat approximately 10000 The contract has not been awarded as yet but Munoz anticipates completion of the work in time for the senes of games In other recent Little League developments South Korea and Hong Kong have been accepted as entrants in this Far East Little League Eliminations and will Compete here on1 Guam Also slated to compete here are Taiwan Japan The Philippines and a team representing host Guam An inquiry has been received from Australia regarding the possibility of entering an Australian team but no final commitment has been made as yet Munoz said the playoffs to determine the Far entrant to the Little League World Series are slated to begin on Saturday July 29th It is not known yet whether the playoffs will be a double elimination series or a round robin series A round robin series would see each team playing all the others and might take excessive time and money to be held 'Munoz also outlined the procedure for the selection of representative to the tournament Each of five Leagues will select an All-Star squad of fourteen boys who are eleven or twelve years old The five All-Star teams will then engage in a double elimination series beginning July 16th and concluding July 22nd The winner of this series will become the Guam bid for the Far East Championship This is the first
