INDIANAPOLIS (UPI) — The Indiana State Board of Tax Commissioners plans to announce its rulings on the tax status of retirement homes next Wednesday. Dr. R. B. Stewart, new chairman of the board, said today a news conference would be held at 3:30 p. m. on June 2 to announce the decision. Stewart did not say whether the board had made up its mind and was delaying an announcement, or.' whether decisions have not been completed. The board was scheduled to rule in several cases where local tax review boards levied property tax on homes for retired persons. In Johnson County, the local board taxed jha multi-million- aoiiar trreehwobd several years ago by the Indiana State Teachers Association, and part of the value of the Indiana Methodist Home at Franklin.
