She. was talking about her experiences while on a study mission to Israel sponsored by the Women's Division of the Jewish Welfare Federation of Alameda and Conrta Costa Counties, last fall. All proceeds from the sale of the works in the show will go to the United Jewish Welfare Fund.

Included are 27 oils and 16 pen and ink drawings. On April 14, from 6:30 to 9: p.m. the paintings will be previewed by invitation. The women from the East Bay who participated in the same mission will act as hostesses and included in the guest list are other participants from various cities throughout the country. Henrietta Berk had her first one-man show in 1959.

Since then she has been represented in all the major museums in the Bay Area, had many one-man shows in galleries throughout California and in major Eastern cities. Simplicity's Teen Retail Fashion Show, "'The Young Contemporaries," will take place at Kaufman's Fabric Land, 2026-Shattuck on Monday, April 9, at noon and 4 p.m.

Trylla Klinzman, stylist for Simplicity Patterns will narrate and direct the show. "The Young Contemporaries" is based on the Simplicity School Catalogue which is sent twice a year to approximately 60,000 clothing teachers in the United States. Headlining the fashion scene for Spring '73 is sportswear interpreted for looks to be worn throughout the day in a spectrum of colors as soft or as bold as one chooses. Character prints are making fashion news. "The Young Contemporaries" is a youth oriented fashion show that combines every important spring fashion trend.

Jr. League schedules preview Thursday, April 12 at 11 a.m. in the Rotunda of the San Francisco Museum of Art, the Junior League of San Francisco, in cooperation with the San Francisco Symphony Association, will present Kirke Mechem as guest speaker at its third Symphony Preview. Mechem, a composer who recently spent nearly a year in London writing a Contata for chorus and orchestra, will discuss Bartok's "Violin Concerto No. 2" and- Stravinsky's ballet music, "The Firebird." The public is invited to attend this preview free of charge.
