NO 619 A Pursuant to Statute and to Resolution of Award of Contract No 669 A of the Board of Trustees of the Town of Berkeley adopted November 9 1903 directing this notice notice is hereby given that the said Board in open session on the 9th day of November 1903 opened examined and publicly declared all sealed proposals offered for the following work to-wit: That the center line of Hawthorne Terrace be sewered with a six-inch vitrified ironstone pipe sewer from the northerly terminus of the sewer now laid in Hawthorne Terrace about 580 feet north of Cedar street northerly to a point 330 feet north of the northerly line of the Wheeler Tract with 4-inch branches one for each 40 feet of frontage fronting on said work and that a brick manhole 4 feet in diameter with cast-iron cover be constructed on the line of said sewer opposite the northerly line of the Wheeler Tract and that a six-inch vitrified ironstone pipe lamphole with cast iron cover be constructed at the northerly members of the team A number of the faculty members have followed his example and are supporting the team heartily JUDGE GARBER CELEBRATES SEVENTIETH ANNIVERSARY One of the most delightful dinners of the week was Judge Garbers birthday dinner given at his home at Claremont Judge Garber has three score years and ten to his credit and this seventieth birthday was a notable event Hallahan pro- sided in his usual happy fashion over the destinies of the dinner and it was a very bright and successful affair planned along interesting and original lines Old friends gathered about the hospitable board and the toasts in honor of the day were full of wit of humor of good wishes the kind that old friends offer us when they have come with us a long way down lifes road The guests at this seventieth the dinner guests arrived and then was cut the big birth- day cake It made a beautiful picture surrounded by seventy lighted candles The company enjoyed one of the rare even- ings of the winter and Alameda State of California In the matter of the application of the Brooklyn Banking Company a corporation to change its name to South Berkeley Bank To the Honorable the Superior Court of the County of Alameda State of California: The petition of the Brooklyn Banking Company respectfully shows and represents: That your petitioner is a corporation duly Incorporated under the laws of the State of California That its Articles of Incorporation are dated March 4th 1903 and were on said date filed In the office of the County Clerk of the County of Alameda That a certified copy of said Articles of Incorporation was duly filed in the office of the Secretary of State of the State of California at Sacramento California on the 5th day of March 1903 That thereupon the said Secretary of State duly has been acquired by residents of the Town of Berkeley and the principal place of business is about to be changed to and transferred to said last named place and will in future be carried on in that
