He began his new duties yesterday morning, and will make his home here. Judge Thomas P. Holt, of Ada was in Muskogee yesterday on legal business. Late Train Causes Visitors. Muskogee received twenty-five or thirty sight-seers this morning when the Fort Worth section of M.

0. G. train No. 4 arrived here five hours late and missed all eastern connections. The passengers were held here for train No.

At the meeting of the city council Tuesday morning it was decided that the streets in front of the Muskogee garage would be cleaned by the city only once more. Couple Draws Fine. M. A. Shears and Elsie Smith were fined $5 each in the police court this morning by Judge Fred S. Zick on A charge of disorderly conduct.

They both pleaded guilty after being arrested last night at one of the hotels of the city by Officer Roy E. Starkey. Police Put Ban on Dogs. Steps will be taken by the police department to enforce the city ordinance requiring all dogs to have leashes and muzzles in public, it was reported this morning. Policemen will be instructed to keep a watch for all dogs not in compliance with this order.

There are' more stray dogs about the city this summer than ever before, policemen say. This 1s attributed largely to the fact that Charles Mehan, formerly official dog killer of the city, now in the army. han used to" kill an average of five doys a day, It was said, and made a record of 16 in one day. Mark Minter is now working in that capacity. Nine dogs were killed yesterday in various parts of the city, all of which were done at the request of civilians.
