Cars Stolen At Midland Two cars were reported stolen from Virginia Midland, early today, according to police. A 1975 model Ford LTD owned by James L. Oliver of 400 Virginia Ave. was taken from in front of his home. He discovered the theft about 7:30.

A 1971 model Ford LTD owned by Rudy Yovich of 432 Virginia Ave. was reported missing at 6:30. Midland Outage Reported Midland area residents were without electric power for about two hours early today when a 23.000 volt line at the Midland substation developed a malfunction. A spokesman for the Duquesne Light Co. said power was restored at 7:50 a.m.

Goodman, a native of East Liverpool, has been promoted to Ohio Highway Patrol sergeant and transferred from the Canfield Post to Castalia on the Ohio Turnpike. A graduate of Beaver Local High School, Goodman attended Ohio University and Kent State University. He has been in the Patrol for six years. He and his wife, Kay, have a daughter, Deborah, 10, and a son, Donald, 3. Goodman will be assistant post commander at Castalia.

Dahlia Society To Meet The East Liverpool Dahlia and Floral Society will meet tonight at 8 in the Potters Savings and Loan Co. annex to discuss the recent show. Hospital in Youngstown. She was born April 27. 1905, in Stratton, a daughter of George and Bertha (Baxter) Stillwell. At one time she was employed in the decorating shop of the Sterling China Co. She attended the Methodist Church in Wellsville and was a member of the Eastern Star, White Shrine of Jerusalem and the Rebekah Lodge, all in Wellsville.

She was a member of the Daughters of America, Queen of Ohio Council, in Wellsville and a past district deputy of D. of A. District 6, a past state councilor of Ohio and a past national representative of D. of A. Mrs.

Hawksworth is survived by her husband, Virgil C. Hawksworth at. home; four sons, Donald Hawksworth of Columbus, Eugene Hawksworth of Garden Grove, and Duane Hawksworth and Virgil R. Hawksworth, both of Wellsville RD; two sisters, Mrs. Olive Smallwood of Miamisburg, and Mrs.

Edna Haynes of Clrystal River. two brothers, Roy Stillwell of Boston. Mass. and Ray Stillwell of East Liverpwol; io grandchild and one grandchild. Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m.

When in East Liverpool, he was employed by Golden Star Dairy and also operated Market in Glenmoor at one time. Mr. Foutts was a former Glenmoor volunteer fire department chief and former St. Clair Township trustee. He was a World War II Navy veteran and a charter member of the Glenmoor American Legion Post 736, Survivors are his widow, Juanita C.

Foutts of Glenmoor: a daughter, Mrs. William (Jacqueline) Bayer of Glenmoor; two sons, James E. Foutts of Hanoverton, with whom he resided, and Jon C. Foutts of Substation; two sisters, Mrs. Phillip (Edwina) DiPaola of Cleveland and Mrs.

Richard (Betty) Slagle of Sebring, and 10 grandchildren. Services will be held at the Dawson Funeral Home by the Rev. Clark Allison of the Wellsville Nazarene Church. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home this afternoon and evening.

RD May) Joseph Jordon COLUMBIANA Joseph W. Jordon. 83, of 133 W. Park Ave. died Saturday at 1 a.m.

at the Salem Community Hospital East, where he had been a patient four hours. He was born Aug. 6, 1891, in Mineral Ridge, a son of the late William and Kathryn Shaffer Jordon. He had lived 54 years in Columbiana and was self employed. His wife, Celestie Linderman Jordon, died July 19, 1974.

He was an Army veteran of World War I and served in the Coast Guard during World War II. He is survived by two brothers, Cecil Jordon of New Waterford and Ernest Jordon of Niles. Services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Warrick Funeral Home in Columbiana by the Rev. J.

B. Rose. Burial will be in the Ohl Town Cemetery in Mineral Ridge. Friends may call at the funeral home today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Churches Net $1,600 111 Marathon EAST PALESTINE About $1,600 was realized in a CROP marathon march Saturday sponsored by the Grace Lutheran Church of East Palestine in conjunction with St.

Lutheran Church of Petersburg. There were 79 from the local church who walked to Petersburg and returned, a distance of 12.2 miles. Some 45 from the Petersburg Church walked to East Palestine and returned. Sponsors of the individual walkers paid $2 for the round trip. Some had as many as 10 sponsors.

There was $1,100 collected by the local church and $500 by the Petersburg Church. Officials reported a lot of blisters but no accidents. The walkers traveled State Line Rd. Earl P. Foutts Services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m.

for Earl P. (Bud) Foutts, 61, of 32667 McKaig Hanoverton, who died Saturday at 3:10 p.m. at Salem Community Hospital East following a brief illness. He was born Jan. 6, 1913, in East Liverpool, a son of the late Earl Foutts and Grace Packer Foutts.

He moved to Hanoverton eight months ago from Cleveland, where he had resided 20 years, moving there from East Liverpool. r. Foutts worked in Cleveland as a longshoreman until moving to Hanoverton and Foster A. Crowe Foster A. Crowe.

60, of 507 Sugar St. died Sunday at 5:20 a.m. at City Hospital following a brief illness. He was born in East Liverpool Nov. 14, 1913, and resided here his lifetime.

Mr. Crowe was a warehouseman at Taylor, Smith and Taylor Co. and was a member of Local 86, IBP AW. He was a World War II veteran, serving as a sergeant in the 80th Division in Europe. Mr.

Crowe was a former sandlot softball player here, a member of American Legion Post 121 of Chester, VFW Post 66, Moose Lodge No. 122 and the YMCA. He is survived by three stepdaughters, Mrs. Doris Whitfaker of Chester and Miss Shirley Ann Carlier and Miss Darlene Carlier, both of Long Beach, three step grandchildren, and an aunt in East Liverpool. Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m.

Fire Today Damages Veliiele At Crucible Extensive damage resulted to a straddle car which caught fire at the Crucible Divisions of Colt Industries at Midland about 3:22 a. m. today. A company spokesman said the vehicle caught fire when a hydraulic line ruptured. Another straddle-car caught fire Saturday at 8:18 a.

March 21, 1919, the son of Reason W. and Ida Ledger Mayhew. He had been a millwright for the Jones and Laughlin Steel Corp. for 21 years and served in the European theater during World War II in which he won several citations, including the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Bethel Methodist Church near Hookstown and a member of United Steel Workers of America Local 1211.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Louise Mayhew. at home; one daughter, Virginia L. Mayhew, at home; one son, Gary R. Mayhew of Wilmington, two brothers.

Jonathan T. Mayhew of Burgettstown and John M. Mayhew of Steubenville; two sisters, Mrs. Clyde (Mary Jane) Neeley of Burgettstown and Mrs. Lewis (Anna Kolenvich of St.

Joe, Ohio. Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Welch Funeral Home in Hookstown by the Rev. William Cramer of the e't 1 Methodist Church assisted by Frank Tocherman of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in East Liverpool. Burial will be in the Bethel Church cemetery.

Campbell Robert Newton (Nute) Campbell, 92, of the Fox Nursing Home in Chester died there Sunday afternoon following a lengthy illness. Mr. Campbell was born March 25, 1882, in Hancock County.

He was retired from Weirton Steel Co. as a construction foreman. Previously he had worked in the oil fields in South America and Texas. He was a past master of Masonic Lodge 22 in New Cumberland where he was a member for over 50 years, and a past high priest of Royal Arch Masons, Chapter 14, of New Cumberland. He also was a member of the Maskat Shrine of Wichita Falls, and the Worshipful Shrine of Lagrado in Steubenville.

His wife, Ethel Steen Campbell, died in 1961. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. William (Margaret Jeanne) Sanker of Cincinnati; a son, William S. Campbell of New York City, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m.

at the Turley Funeral Home at New Cumberland by Rev. Allen S. Fields, with a Masonic graveside service at the New Cumberland Cemetery. 1, 1916, son of Lisle Johnston and Carrie Phillips Johnston. He lived here 29 years and was a manager at the Filmore Freight Lines. Mr. Johnston, a World War II navy veteran, was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, Glenmoor American Legion Post 736 and Elks Lodge. He is survived by hi.s wife, Mrs.

Anna Mae Hubish Johnston, at home; three daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Patricia) Maylone of Youngstown, Mrs. Alvin (Sondra) Mooney and Mrs. Michael (Sherry) Mosura, both of East Liverpool; a son, James L. Johnston of Minerva; a sister, Mrs.

Edgar (Mildred) Goodfellow, and a brother, Melvin Johnston, both of Indiana, and six grandchildren. Services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home by the Samuel Groglode Dies; Aided Hospital, Mission Samuel S. Groglode, 88, formerly of 2623 St. Clair Ave.

and recently of Copeland Oaks in Sebring, died Sunday at 6 p. m. at Copeland Oaks following a brief illness. He was born July 15, 1886, in Carnegie, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs.

George A. Groglode, and had resided in East Liverpool since age 10. He was a prime benefactor of City Hospital, the Community Rescue Mission and the American Red Cross Chapter here. Among his contributions to City Hospital, was $100,000 donated to the City Hospital Expansion Fund in 1972, and three mobile heart care units given to its emergency room in memory of his wives and daughter in 1971. He purchased a truck for the Community Rescue Mission and paid off the mortgage on the former mission.

Mr. Groglode operated the Standard Garage, at one time located where the Hays Oil Co. now stands, and later at E. 5th and Walnut Sts. where Motor Co.

was located. Mr. Groglode also supplies, provided auto repairs and stored cars. Following his association with the Standard Garage, he worked for 15 years as a ceramic salesman, traveling some 50,000 miles a year. He retired in 1953.

He was a former secretary of the East Liverpool Country Club. He was a collector of miniature bottles, having more than 400, and was an avid flower grower. Mr. Groglode was a great lover of sports, playing basketball when it was the and having a career in baseball and basketball that spanned 20 years. He once played with Honus Wagner.

He also was an extensive reader, especially in his later years, and had donated more than 400 books, many of which he passed on to the hospital for use by the patients. There are no immediate survivors. Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the City Hospital Chapel by Pastor D. Gary Schreckengost of the St.

Episcopal Church of Youngstown. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. It has been requested that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the City Hospital Coronary Care Unit. Driver Cited After Crash A New Cumberland woman was cited by the Hancock County department for leaving the scene of an accident after her vehicle allegedly struck a parked auto on Washington Newell, Saturday afternoon.

Helen W. Barkley. 26. of New Cumberland RD 2 was traveling south on Washington St. when she struck the side of a parked auto owned by Carl R.

Morris of 113 W. 9th East Liverpool, deputies The woman continued south on Washington St. but was apprehended a short time later, deputies said. She is scheduled to appear before Squire John Herron in New Cumberland within five days. Kenneth Anderson, 17, of New Cumberland was not cited after his car struck the parked auto of William Kuykendall, 29, of New Manchester Sunday on Ridge Rd.

Under the law. the Secretary of Agriculture is required to prevent co-ops from using their special status to enhance their prices unduly. But department officials say no action is under way to roll back the present record-high extra charges.

Lisbon Youth Awaits Juvenile Court Trial LISBON A hearing is scheduled Dec. 5 at 1 p.m. in Juvenile Court for David Allen Toot, 19, of 367 E. Lincoln Way. Lisbon, accused of contributing to the unruliness of a 17 year old girl.

Toot pleaded innocent last week and was released after posting a $1,000 bond. The charge alleges that since Jan. 1 he continued to associate, communicate and date the girl in violation of the express orders of her father.
