Deaths and Funerals Thomas Bowen Sr. 'HioinaiS Bowen 87, ol 116 Virginia Chester, former president the Goddard Bakery, died this morning at 4 at the City where he had been a patient fw about two weeks. He was born in England, March 31, 1881, a son of the late James and Sarah Beardmore Bowen. He retired in 1946. He belonged to the Chester First Christian Church, and was the last surviving charter member of the Baker's Local 61.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Jessie Bowen at home; two sons, Alfred Bowen of Greenville, and Thomas Bowen of Chester; four daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Esther) Shenton of Chester, Mrs Robert (Sarah) Haney of East Liverpool, Mrs. Emery (I.ena) Anderson of Daytona Beach, and Mrs. Sam (Olive) Titus of Cleveland; a si.ster, Mrs.

Esther Moyser of Doncaster, England, 12 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. The Martin Funeral Home is arranging services. Miss Vera Ward Miss Vera M. Ward, 61, of 311 W. 5th a former potter, died this morning at Rochester General Hospital after an illness of several weeks.

She was born in England, Iwit had resided in the East Liverpool area most of her life. She was a member of the IBOP. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Horace (Elsie) Wanner of Mars, RD a step-sister, Mrs. Richard (Elizabeth) Minter of Hopewell, and a brother, Stanley Ward of East Liverpool.

Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the H. H. Wilson Jr. Funeral Home in Beaver by the Rev.

Raymond Walter of the Monaca First Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Rochester. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. United Mine Workers of America.
