28. (A. Disregarding the tightest credit situation In eight years, the stud market moved forward again in impr essive fashion today under the leadership of the high grade industrials and rails. Nearly two score issues were elevated to new high levels several of the gains running from 5 to 20 points, on a turnover of nearly shares. At the Claude A.

Jagger close of the day the average of 20 leading industrial issues, compiled by the Associated Press, had advanced 3 points, bringing it within 3 points of the record high level established just before the drastic break in the first week of this month. In view of the fact that brokers loans had declined $19,000,000 in the face of rising prices last week, Wall street apparently came to the conclusion that powerful financial interests were again accumulating stocks. This, coupled with expectations of an enormous January reinvestment demand, and a batch of favorable trade and dividend news, more than offset the temporary credit stringency. Call money opened at 3 2 per rent, the highest renewal rate since July. 1920.

and held steady at that figure all day, despite the calling of about $35,000,000 in bank loans. Bankers expressed the belief that the peak of the year-end demands had been passed. but that money will continue tight for a few days, due to the disinclination of banks to increase their borrowing at the Federal Reserve Bank. Time money and commercial paper rates continued firm, with little hope of any early reduction. The U.

S. treasury will withdraw $25,632,000 from depository banks on January 2, of which 7,437,800 will be taken from New York. Rising copper prices, encouraging reports from the steel trade, publication of favorable November earnings statements and predictions that the December figures will be even better, and a series of favorable dividend and merger rumors all helped to maintain bullish enthusiasm in the market. A. HAl'Ki AI-l Ircald' il( Blu-Green Gasoline For High Compression Engines Two years ago thei Gilmore Oil Company sensed the trend toward high compression engines and developed a special refining process that would produce a gasoline that would function to maximum efficiency in this type enginew They introduced that fuel to the public under the name -of Gilmore High-Copipression gasoline. Its sales increased rapidly and when it was decided to concentrate thei selling efforts of the company largely on Blu-Green gasoline, the company combined the two brands of gasoline and the result is a motor fuel that not only makes a high compression enginei function properly, but also keeps it free from carbon. This is the summary of a statement made by B. A.

Rowell, manager of refined oil sales for the Gilmore Oil Company. Ordinary refined gasoline will cause a high compression engine to knock, says Rowell. A special refining process is necessary to produce a gasoline that overcomes that tendency. Further improvement is obtained by the addition of the patented Blu-Gren formula. This makes the gas start quicker during cold weather and is guaranteed to remove carbon.

This later factor is obtainable only in the Gilmore Blu-Green gasoline. Many of the formulas that are added to gasoline make the combination poisonous and mechanics are prone to work on cars which show evidence of having been operated on such fuels, but Blu-Green is as harmless as the gasoline itself. The increase in sales recorded by Gilmore grsoline indicates ihe advent cf high compression motors and more makers adopt them, we expect our sales to increase at a faster rate than during the past year. Recreation Experts To Revive Old Games WASHINGTON (A.P.) A revival of old-fasioned games and of folk songs is urged by the United States department of agriculture through Miss Alice Gardner, recreational expert in the childrens bureau. Miss Gardner has been working in rural districts to promote recreation for farm women and children She reports that in remote regions of Virginia she has found games still in vogue which were enjoyed in colonial days and even in England before that time.

She found that people living in these remotedistricts clung to their old time games which were in many instances beneficial from a recreational point of view. Ring Around A-Rosy -and London Bridge may not be as picturesque as modern esthetic dancing but government experts found that they are good recreation aids. Miss Gardner plans to introduce some of-the -old amusements into the more sophisticated rural communities. COTTON MARKET NEW YOTlK, Dec. 28.

A late buying flurry this afternoon sent many stocks soaring on the San Francisco Stock and Curb Exchanges.

Among them were Claude Neon common, Iacific Clay Products on the curb, and Richfield Oil common. Claude Neon went to 54 Vi before it met resistance, a gain of more than 3 points. Pacific Clay Products soared to 37 and then settled back slightly. Richfield Oil, on heavy buying, climbed to 46 and continued near that level for the remainder of the session. The minor oil group was hit the hardest on the downside in the afternoon; Occidental Petroleum softened to 5 after selling past 6 this morning; Universal cracked to $2.60 before support came.

Palmer Union was down to its lowest for the current move, selling at 16 cents. Sperrys further advance to a new high for the year above 9 6 was attributed in some quarters to a belief that something in the way of an Eastern merger has been proposed or may be under 'negotiation. Buying was reported for a good hanking source, but this could not he confirmed. On the other hand, President Bishop flatly denied to Dow Jones Company that any development was in progress. Sperry's federal back tax obligations still to be met and general business progress argue against nnv dividends at this time.

The stock closed around 50. The hanks strengthened somewhat in the afternoon. Trans-america closed at 129, Bank of America at 191 and American Company at 139. was prominent on the upside, gaining almost 2 points to 45 on indications of excellent earnings. California Cotton came to the front with a rise of 6 points to 9 5.
