and on one side of any street or road and fifteen foot distant from the center thereof aud that during the laying of any water pipe any trench excavated for the purpose of laying pipe therein shall at night time be protected by burning lanters at a distance of not less than 150 feet apart along such excavation The work of la ying aunt repairing any pipe line to be conducted without hindrance to the use of said street by the traveling public as a public highway and as soon as pipe is laid upon any portion of any street or highway It shall be placed in as good a condition as it was befere the laying of sueh pipe began and any damage or injury F11 ffered by any person whomsoever by reason of any excavation being improperly guarded during said work shall be borne by the party holding this franchise County of Los Angeles reserves the right to change the grade of any stroet or road at any time: the party receiving this franchise to conform to such chenge in grade See 3 This Ordinance
