The 3.2 million shares of Allis-Chalmers stock turned over represented the largest single block of stock ever traded on the big board. The previous record, set July 22, 1970, was a block of 1,184-300 Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. The Allis turnover was valued at $58.5 million. . Allis-Chalmers finished up 1% points at 19V 4 . The large block sold at 18, up %. Standard & Poor's 500 stock index climbed 0.52 to 97.45 while the average price of a NYSE share rose 24 cents. • DAIL Pago 5 CROSSWORD ACROSS .'; 1. European river | ' 5. Ipswich and cherrystone 10.
