COUNTY SOCIETY FREDERICK OLIVER COWLES Miss Christina Muller Bride Of Frederick Cowles, Yesterday Harvard Law and Boston University Students Married Newtown The Newtown Congregational Church was the setting yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock for the wedding of Miss Christina Monica Muller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Otto Muller of Currituck road to Frederick Oliver Cowles. son of the Rev.

and Mrs. Oliver Howard Cowles of Cleveland, Ohio and Nantucket, Mass. The Rev. Paul Cullens, pastor, and the bridegroom's father, pastor of the West Park Congregational church in Cleveland, officiated. The bride, given in marriage by her father, was gowned in ivory peau de soie gown, 1 fashioned with a scalloped neckline, short puffed sleeves and a full skirt ending in a chapel train, colonial style: She wore a full length Brussels lace veil which had been worn by her mother and maternal grandmother, and carried a nosegay of white roses, stephanotis and ivy.

Miss Diane M. Muller. sister of the bride, was maid of honor, and Miss Fredericn I. Muller, Miss Gertrude E. Muller, sisters of the bride and Miss Cornells Cowles, of Cleveland, Ohio, sister of the bridegroom, were brides- maides.

They wore waltz length gowns of organza over taffeta, the maid of honor in jade and the bridesmaids in mint green, and they carried baskets of yellow mums to match their headdresses. James Fu Tao of, Cambridge, Mass, was best man, and Sheldon Jaffe of Manchester, Kenneth Kehr.er of Orange and Christopher Moran of Sutherland, Md. ushered Robert L. Muller. brother of the bride was the ring bearer.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the garden of the bride's home. After a short wedding trip the couple will make their home in Cambridge. Mass. Mrs. Cowles attended Newtown high school and was graduated from the Emma Willard school, Troy.

N. Y. She attended Wilson College in Chambersburg. and will continue her studies at Boston university. Mr.

Cowles, a graduate of Yale. Phi Beta Kappa, is in his third year at Harvard Law school. Miss Gail Beckett Bride of Student Danbury In St. Joseph's church yesterday morning at 8 o'clock. Miss Gail Frances Beckett, daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. Thomas A. Beckett, of Golden Hill road, was married to C. Thomas Musson, of Mrs. Charles T.

Musson, 101 Hospital avenue and the late Mr. Musson. The ceremony performed by the Rev. Ed- J. Duffy, pastor.

Miss Elizabeth Donnelly of Providence. R. was the bride's cmly attendant and Allan Musson of Danbury was his brother's best man. A reception took place at the home of the bride's parents, af Ic-r which the couple left for a wedding trip to the Poconos. They will reside in New Haven.

Robert Eugene Wheeler, son of Mrs. Katherine Wheeler of Bridgeport and the late Frederick Wheeler yesterday at 2 p.m. in the Newtown Metho dist church. The Rev. Thomas A.

Dicken, pastor of the Gaylordsville Meth odist church, performed the ceremony. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor length gown of silk organza, fashionec with a scoop neckline, long sleeves pointed over the xvrists. and a bouffant skirl, with a crushed pouf rose at the back. Her elbow length veil of silk illusion was attached to a crown of seeded pearls and she carried a bouquet of white mums and ivy. Mrs.

John White, a college roommate, was matron of honor, frocked in red satin with which she wore a matching headdress and carried a bouquet of cream mums. David Wheeler was best man for his brother and Raymond Serra. a brother-in-law and Robert Allen Gothson, cousin of the bride, ushered. Following the ceremony, a re ception was held in the Alexandra room of the Edmond Town Hall The couple left on a motor trip and will make their home in the Methodist Parsonage in Sandy Hook. The bride is a graduate of Newtown high school and Bryant college.

Vaughn Davies of 2074 Thome avenue, Rideau Park, Ottawa, Ontario, announce the engagement of their daughter Gwendolyn Muriel to Paul H. Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold R. Johnson, 73 Greer circle.

Miss Davies attended school in British Columbia before being employed by the United Kingdom Information Service in Ottawa. She is presently employed by Eastern Air Lines, Inc. of New York. Mr. Johnson was graduated from Milford high school and Brown university, class of 1958, and subsequently served as a lieutenant in the U.S.

Escarted by her father, bride wore a candlelight peau de soie gown styled with a modified scoop neckline trimmed with seed pearls, bracelet length sleeves and a bouffant skirt ending in a chapel length train. Her bouffant veil of silk illusion was attached to a crystal and pearl crown and she carried a white orchid on a prayeroook. Miss Jane Irving of Milford, cousin of the bride, was maid of honor and the bridesmaids were Miss Jacqueline Ellsworth of Milford, Miss Norma Knott of Fairfield. and Miss Eileen Salamon of Orange, all cousins of the bride. They all wore old gold peau de soie bell shaped dresses and circular illusion veils arranged from old gold crystal and pearl crowns.

The maid of honor carried a colonial bouquet of yellow roses and miniature carnations and the bridesmaids carried colonial bouquets of apricot miniature carnations and talisman roses. Linda Johnson, sister of the bridegroom, was flower girl in gold taffeta with a butterfly bow. She wore a yellow roso headdress and carried a miniature colonial bouquet. Robert Gannon of Fairfield was best man and ushering were Donald C. Maher and John D.

Ryan, both of Milford, and Richard S. Hasking of New Haven After a reception at the Knights of Columbus hall the couple left for Cape Cod. They will reside at 102 Beach avenue, Woodmont. Mrs. Downey was graduated from Lauralton Hall and is in her junior year at Sotuhern Connecticut State college.

Her husband was graduated from Milford high school and attended Milford Preparatory School and Southern Connecticut State college. She wore a gown white taffeta, fashioned with a scoop neckline trimmed with lace and seed pearls. long sleeves tapered over the hands, and lace appliques embroidered with seed pearls throughout the gown. The skirt featured back fullness ending in a chapel train. Her veil of illusion was arranged fingertip length from a crown of seed pearls, and her prayer book was marked with white roses, baby's breath and stephanotis. Mrs.

George Jugis served as matron of honor for her cousin, wearing purple taffeta, with a matching rose headdress and veil. She carried a nosegay lavender carnations centered with purple. The other senior attendants were Mrs. Fred Veith sister- in-law of the bride. Miss Sally Sanford, a cousin of the bridegroom and Mrs.

The other adult attendants were in pale yellow and carried colonial bouquets of mint green carnations and the lower girl had a full skirted dress of mint green organdy with a headdress which matched the oth- ea in the bridal party. She carried a colonial bouquet of pale carnations.

John Scott attended Mr. Gerback as best man, and the ushers vere Frank Harcor, Edward 3rmvn and Charles Wilcox, )rother of the bride. After a reception at the VFW iall, the couple left for a wedding trip for two weeks to Niaga- a Falls and Canada. They will reside at 42 Lincoln avenue. Danbury.
