Organ is a member of Sigma Omicron Sig; ma fraternity, a past member of student council, a representative of men's senate, and an officer of Southport dormitory. The new officers will be installed at the student council dinner May 15 in Bru-Conti's. Frederic Pike, president of the senior class, announced that let: ters will be sent this week to all graduating seniors as well as all graduating sophomores. The letters are designed to raise money for the class gift which this year will go toward the clock that will sit atop the new student center. i The senior class officers are attempting to raise $1,200 to finish off payment of the clock which was begun by last year's aling class.

Pike innounced lha commencement tickets will be distributed beginning May 16 in the public relations office, Cortright hall. A carnival which will feature talent competition and the selection of a Greek Queen and a picnic will highlight the Inter-fraternity weekend which will take place on May 14 and 15. The carnival will be in the Technology building parking lot, and will begin at 8 p.m. The "Greek Queen" will be chosen from fraternity and sorority candidates on the basis of beauty, talent and personality. The picnic will be in Woodland Stratford, beginning at noon May 15.

The weekend Is being planned by a commiltee headed by Walter Londergan who is the president of the inter-fraternity council, assisted by Frank Forni and Jean Richqns. Kjell Svendsen, a senior ma- ioring in foreign languages, has been awarded a $3,000 National Defense Education Act Scholarship for the study of Swahili anthropology and sociology at Howard university, Washington, C. Svendsen is a dean's list student and is president of the German club. The Men's Housing Office has announced that contracts for the academic year 1960-1961 are now being sent to dorm and off-campus students. All deposits must be in by June 13 or upperclassmen will lose their dormitory priority.

Commuting will be limited next year to students who live within a driving distance ot 50 miles from the university. The Spring concert by the University Concert band will be pre- Kay Ann Mesaros and Judv Chapman, both of the College Cursing, attended a meeting he National Student Nurses as sociation in Miami from April lo May 2. Miss Libby Zarorin he nursing faculty at the university attended the American Nurses association annual convention which also was in Miam rom April 30 to May 4. Sigma Phi Alpha fraternity has announced its slate of officers for he Fall semester as follows: Richard Moss, presdent; John toch, vice president; Ronald verrilly, treasurer; Jerald Pat recording secretary; Wil iam Everett, corresponding sec retary; and Mathew Onuska, ser geant-at-arms. The new officers will be initiated during the Wis aria Ball weekend.

Miss Judith Rabinor, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Rabinor of Woodmere, N. has been chosen as the Scribe's "cutie he week" and her photo will ap ear in the next issue of the campus newspaper. Miss Rabinor IS and is a freshman majoring elementary education.
