The current rate is 28. Budget Up (1.) Million Where will the extra money go? The aldermanic budget for next year is 58,763,811, an increase of over the curreW budget of $7,462,575. The total increase for these two from the current budget is $590,575 or 45 per cent of the total budget The Board of Education budget of $3,553,742 is an increase ol 5246,197 and most of this is for new personnel and higher salaries.

507,600 for Raises A total of 507,600 is included in the budget for raises for city em- ployes. There is 542,600 to provide 5300 across the board raises for the police and fire departments and another 525,000 to give other city employes slight increases. The public works shows the highest department budget increase for city departments. The department will have a budge of 5659,033. or an increase 573,133 over the current appro priation.

The biggest part of the increase is for capital outlay new equipment and some smal capital projects.
