New Drama Set for Tryout At White Barn This Weekend WESTPORT "Life In Excellence," a drnma by play- bright Anthony Calandra, will it's world premiere this liweekend' at the White Barn the- 'ater, on Newtown avenue. The play Is slated for thrce performances this weekend, begin- toniglit, tomorrow and evening at 8 p.m. The pro- hns been staged by Barbara Loden. "Lite In Excellence," is a play the goings-on in a run-down hotel The author, has had a vast and var- career In the theater, in addi- to his work as a playwright has served in the following "capacities, as a band vocalist, director, stage hand. He has managed two rock groups, and founded two tliEatrl- companies to produce his own and other original 'plays.

Director Barbara Loden is ftell-rounded theatrical personality, with impressive stage and Jilm credentials. She was the winner of the Antoinette "Tony" award for her perform- jince as "Maggie" in Arthur Milter's "Alter The Fall," directed pn Broadway by Elia Kazan. JMiss Loden wrote, directed and starred in the film "Wanda," which won the Best Film award at the Venice Film festival. She itas also directed two successful Tiff-Broadway productions, "The Plays" by William Jnge, and "Berchtesgaden." She is an active' member of Actors studio. Cast members of tbe production include: Michael Strok ell-known for bis appearances the'recent television melodra- ina "Dark 1 Frank Keith Aldrich, Lucille Dayle Greene, Joseph' Jamrog, Edward Mctloskey and Wendy Sherman.
