ADVICE ABOUT DYES In their natural state, cotton, wool, silk and linen are either white or yellowish and dull. And even the synthetic fibers like rayon, acetate, nylon, orlon and what have you do not emerge from their final chemical gestation with any color to speak of. Yet most of the things we wear are COLORED. Therefore, they are obviously dyed. So it's an astonishing and incredible fact to me a cleaner how few women check on the fastness of the dye when they buy colored garments or fabrics.

Let's be plain: If the garment or fabric you're buy. ing is labeled color fast, you can be quite sure it is. If it isn't labeled color fast, you can also be quite sure that it isn't. And if it isn't, it's plain common sense that you can expect it to bleed it's cleaned or washed. Why not buy things that are color fast? There will be problems enough with fading due to gas fumes or excessive exposure to sunlight and the chemical action of grime and stains without starting out under a handicap.

Here's how to get the most from dyes. Buy color fast items to begin with; protect them from gas fading by keeping closet doors closed: clean regular. ly to prevent grime and stains from eating colors away; and CALL OR BRING THEM TO CLEANERS Little better" de Charge for call 704-4806 for a Late de de stitch Thursday, Octeber 19, 1978 Duartean, DR.
