State TESOL to Hold 4th Annual Conference The fourth annual conference of Connecticut Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) will be held on Friday and Saturday, at 'the Stratford Motor inn, Stratford. "Band On The Run" Paul McCartney Ringo Starr General Electric Table Radio Jazz Workshop AtHCCtoBeLedjj By Bill Finegan Composer-arranger Bill Fine- sjan of tlie Glenn Miller and Tommy Dorsey bands will teach the new "Jazz Workshop II and Arranging" non-credit course at Housatonic Com; munity college i during the spring semester. Classes will meet Monday and Wednesday evenings from 7 10 m. to 8:40 p.m., tomorrow through May 13. No previous knowledge of ar- i. ranging is necessary.

The course is designed to enhance performance in jazz and improvising for the intermediate through, advanced player. Mr. Finegan also will teach arranging for any combination of instruments. In addition to composing and arranging, Mr. Finegan has engaged in musical activities that include orchestration and conducting hundreds of pieces for Glenn Miller and Tommy Dorsey.

He also has worked with.Les and Larry Elgart, Bobby Hackett, Gerry Mulligan, Harry Belafonte, Merv Griffin, the Ames Brothers, tlie Modernaires, and the Sauter-Finegan orchestra. Mr. Finegan has worked in films. TV, radio and TV commercials. He had recorded for Decca, United Artists and VJ and has for many years taught "private students mostly professionals), composi- ion, arranging and -orchestra- ion.
