French associate called to see him he was out of liquor and was forced to borrow a small amount from a friend whose name the police refuse to disclose The remark overheard by the gardener Metcalf as Cooper and the strange man left the home Thursday night "Y'ou could have had more if vou had asked for it" is believed to have been uttered in a conversation regarding the whisky transaction Police believe that the whisky merchant who called at the house wanted more money for his liquor after making a former contract to deliver the whisky at a certain price of living erty Custodian in Taking
