"People TOPS PA1096, Drums, heard a article on "Healthy Ways to Handle Cravings" presented by Nadine Sauer at last week's meeting. She alsq discussed how to substitute low-fat versions of the high-fat varieties. The second part of the program centered on members identifying with their diet personality. Personalities discussed were the Chronic Dieter, one who is on a diet and follows it faithfully until he or she blows it and goes off; the Seesaw Dieter, who swings between eating less by skipping meals or eating like a bird to overeating as a result of the hunger built up. Also, the Emotional Dieter, who eats in response to feelings getting out of control, especially in a confined situation or when alone, and the Undereducated Dieter who is not sure why the scale will not budge.

The latter may not have the information on making the right choices or may be trying to drop pounds when they do not have to. Ms. Sauer offered solutions and suggestions to cope with each personality. Those able to identify with more than one were told to deal with the dominant one first and overcome it before tackling others. Betty Ann Marchetti was the week's best loser and Minnie Gower won the Good For You for the previous week.

A Crack the Safe contest begins at tonight's weigh-in. Losses will be added as members weigh-in. The one whose weight loss is added to reach the first number on the lock will win the first prize and so on until the third number is cracked to open the safe. Take Off Pounds Sensibly meets Thursdays at St, Paul's United Methodist Church, Drums. Weigh-in from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m.

is followed by a meeting. For details call 788-2651 or 788-2669. TOPS PA837, West Hazleton, will hold its semi-annual awards dinner on Wednesday evening at the Ivanhoe, Drums. Early weigh-in will begin at 5:15 p.m. and members are asked to bring donations for the basket.

Leader Eleanor Mehalick at last week's meeting spoke about keeping low-calorie treats on hand for times when we feel we need something. Mona and Dave Thatcher tied as the week's best losers, and Gale Rossi won the two-week Halla. Those who lost for the July 4th holiday were Mary Chulock, Helen Kokinda, Rosalie Casella, Gale Rossi, Olga Zanoline, Mona and Dave Thatcher, and those who turtled were Violet Wargo, Pat Sauers and Florence San-drock, all of whom will receive a charm at the Christmas awards dinner. Take Off Pounds Sensibly meets Wednesdays at 6 p.m. at the West Hazleton borough building.
