Our colleges and many of our churches are sensing a new presence and power. The hour has struck when people who claim the name of Christ should live above the defeatism prevalent within our chaotic times. We dareaot continue joining forces with those in and near despair but begin honestly to claim victory and live victorious lives. It is time to listen to youth; but at the same time show them victorious christian soldiers after whom they can pattern their lives. * We passed the place where it seemed good to everyone to throw another stone at the church. Our society has missed the God we tried to dismiss. The awakening must begin with adults who both listen and communicate to the needs of the worid. . ' God comes in new ways and often in strange places but He is breaking through the maize of complications and barriers we have erected against Him.. His gracious presence will empower us. . A new day dawns. Let us rise up to meet the dawn.', •• | , Let 1971 not be 365 more yawns, but as many new dawns of opportunity. God Is able and wiUing and is trying. Let us do the necessary and see what God can do. It makes a difference what God can do. Rev. William Simpson I Men's Breakfast— Ralph Brown (left) being served his fruit juice by Reverend Roy. This fresh jand' dramatic approach to the story of the heart, the red blood' cell and the circulatory system is the fruit of four years of intensive work by Dr. Irwin A. :Moon and the staff of Moody Institute of Science in Whittier, Calif. Inspired by 'the biblical phrase from the Old Testament, "The Life of the flesh is in the blood" (Leviticus 17:11), scientists at MB set out to explore tte almost unknown story behind the mystery, of life. They found that the human body is quite similar to an automobile—except for the fact, that it has 30 trillion cylinders; that the human heart is the most powerful and praise pump for its size 5 that can be found anywhere, and that the ed blood cell is the key to one of the most amazing transportation systems ever devised. In the. film] Dr. Moon uses an automobile engine to explain what makes the human machine tick. "They are similar," he says, "because they both need fuel, oxygen and removal of exhaust or waste gases." In an automobile engine these functions are performed by separate systems—fuel, air intake and exhaust—while in the human body these are all performed through the bloodstream which acts as a combination fuel and exhaust. . "All the st'idy and research for the production of this film," said Dr. Moon, "have only emphasized the truth of the phrase- found in only lone chapter of the Bible, "The life of the flesh is in the 'blood. 1 ) Certainly of far greater significance is the state- . ment found literally hundreds of times throughout the Bible that . spiritual life] is to be had only through the blood of Christ." Adventists Church Officers Voted by the constituency of Indiana Conferences of Seventh- day Adventists that the term for church offices will be from June to June, rather from January to January as has been the past term. •» A few new offices were filled in'the Cicero church in January due to vacancies created by absences. Mrs. Irene toman, Cicero, was voted in as Missionary Secretary, replacing Mrs. ElizaMth Byram, who with her husband Robert, are spending the winter months in Florida.
