Davis returned to their rome in Roosevelt, Oklahoma, after a visit of several weeks with relatives in Spring Hill and vicinity. The house of Mr. Geo. Walker, west of town, was struck by lightning during the storm Sunday night doing considerable damage. Rev.

Riepma and family returned Tuesday from their automobile trip of 2,000 miles which required about five weeks to make. They went as far as Grand Rapids, Michigan, on the Santa Fe Trail, and returned by the Gulf Trail. Mrs. J. L.

Kirkpatrick and sons, Roy and Harold, of Kansas City, were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. A. Kirkpatrick for. the week end.

The King's Daughters met with returned home Sunday morning after a visit of several weeks with relatives in Kansas City. Misses Filkin and Johnson of Olathe visited at Stoddard's Thursday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Norrls of Philadelphia, walking to San Francisco, are marooned at Stoddards.

Mrs. Fred Johnson Friday afternoon. The Mothers Club will meet in the Miss Mary Vaughan, who has been Dr. Davis has returned from his vacation and filled the Presbyterian pulpit Sunday morning and evening. Irwin Lynch returned from Nes-pelin, Washington, last week and will attend school here this winter.

Mrs. Todd returned from Wichita last week after a two months visit. J. P. Williams and family drove to Blue Springs, Sunday.

Gale Gilbert and wife of Kansas City visited Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Gilbert and family Sunday.

Mr. Thomas Kelly and family of Paola arrived from Manitou, Colorado Saturday, called here by the sudden death of his sister, Mrs. Sherr. Miss Carrie Wilson and Rachael Foster left this week for Olathe to take charge of their school work at the Institute. The Gardner Chautauua was a success and was enjoyed very much by those who attended every session.

The speakers were of the best as also was the music. Mrs. Foakes and daughters were shopping in Olathe last week. Mr. and Mrs.

Quinn have been with her cousin, Mrs. L. C. Mrs. Sherr was a sister of Mrs. Alva Marshal and Charles and Frank Kelly and was bom and grew to womanhood at the Kelly home, three miles of Gardner and has many friends to mourn her early death. The body was shipped to Olathe and the funeral was held at St. Poul's Catholic in Olathe last week.

Mrs. Pack was a Kansas City visitor last week. Mrs. and Mrs. Joe Shean left Wednesday for Nenonsett, 111., where thev will make their future home.

Mr. and Mrs. Ray Rice were shopping in Olathe last week. Mr. and Mrs.
