commencement season without girl springtime of buds with not a full blown the unique situation at Bailey Springs university this week It was in all respects one of girlhood's traditional blue ribboned parchments were not the conclusion This week the university concluded Ms first year as a state institution and as a result- there were no graduates This situation however did not mar interest in the commencement exercises Despite the frequent rains many of tile friends and patrons of the school were present Miss Lillie Lambert of Perdue Ala took first honors for the year'l work The second honor was won by Anss Bessie Cooper of Centreville Ala The concluding feature of the commencement exercises was the military drill conducted by Capt Albert Ellie There were twenty-eight cadets in line The girls wore white duck suitings with white mortar board hats and for proficiency and precise stepping they would put to blush many companies at the state encampment It was a great week at Bailey
