28--The court-bonee was turned into something of a prize ring for about two hours this afternoon and State Legislator Wm Macklin and son and Alexander Garesche and two sons figured as The parties are all prominent the elder Gareche being one of the leading lawyers In the eny The trouble grew out of a lawsuit in progress at the time and Mackin found occasion to insult the elder and then to strike him The latter struck back and chased young Macklin out of the courthouee4 Alex- Gareeche Jr heard of the trouble and went in search of Macklin and revenged his father's ill treatment with a kick and a blow Again Macklin lied but soon returned backed by his father and a brick which be had tied in a handkerchief The Gareschee were talking to several lawyers when they were confronted by the Macklin A scrimmage ensued and Macklin Jr threw the brick at the younger Gareche's head but missed It Judge Valliant with the assistance of several amid officials eeparated the Two hours later Macklin Jr was met on the street by Edmond Garesche another son of the eminent lawyer He took Macklin to task for abusing an old man and when Macklin retorted Edmond struck at him A lively retreat eared him and in the chase Edmond fell and Macklin seeing hie advantage kicked him viciously in the face The younger Garesche regained his feet and for two blocks chased Macklin capturing him in Lope's saloon It took about two minutes for the police to get on the scene and half of that time Gareeche wasted in getting ready for his victim but the last minute was put in with vengeance and when Macklin rode down to the Four Gourta in the patrol wagon his face was out of shape and a mass of bruises ki parties were released on bail No serious injury was done physically but social circles are highly indignant at the scandal caused at the end of the third inning on a000unt of rain The snore at this point stood 1 to 0 In favor of Warbington 901717111I1 LIA013 1111WIL NAsHYILLE TRNPI May 25 1887-4ontracts for
