was the ustom of the Legislature The reading of be journal did not go into detail upon thia bode of substitution but every presump ton was that it was legal and right Judge spoke forcibly and at some of substituting one bill for another said ithat the Senate bill ras taken up as it came from le Senate was passed on Rs third reading a two succemive days and was signed by le Speakers of the two houses as the Sen Le bill He was interrogated at length von points at law by Judge Ridley ad answered promptly He submitted to le court an exhaustive and carefully premed brief Judge Ridley at the conclusion of the rgament announced that he would take le matter under consideration and return decision as soon possible He stated 'ter to an AMERICAN reporter that he was ary much of a hung Jury in
