lives with his father at No 279 South Spruce tent created quite a senBation in that immediate vizinity by a remarkable freak of mental aberration or an attempt to diet after having made a mistake in not swallowing the poison as it seems he bad deliberately made up his mind to do He has been out of employment for some time and while at the supper table last night he heard his father make some remark about the difficulty he was having in supporting so large a family in these times of general depression in business and thinking perhaps the remark was intended for him he left the table without finishing his supper and remarked to some member of the family that they would not be troubled with him any longer and left the house He had pro needed some twenty or thirty yards down Spruce street when he was seen to throw a piece of -paper and a Moment afterward tumbled over on the pavement He was taken up by friends in what appeared to be an insensible condition and carried home and a physician immediately summoned The family began at once to administer emetics and other antidotes to counteract the effects of the poison This was kept up with proper energy until the arrival of Dr Richards who examined the young man's pulse and eyes and in fact gave him a pretty thorough overhauling but could find no evidence of poison except faint traces of whisky and pronounced the young man series of games in the Southern League The Nashvilles won an easy and decided victory over the plucky and strong Augusta and now hold undleputed title to second place in the race for the pennatit Since their departure the team under the management of Manager Mayberry has done well It has played seventeen games aid won thirteen of that number In no one of the four games that were lost were the Nashville out matched The reasonthey did not win was not because of the superior playing of their opponents but because they did not play at all up to their standard When they left Atlanta the club of that city was twelve games in the lead with the Augusta' second Now the Atlantis are averagibg up their games won and lost only mix games in the lead and Augusta has been stripped of all claims to second place The Nashvilies won Mx straights off both Columbus and Birmingham where Atlanta wen only four losing two The Nashville also won four and bet two gamed at Anglian' and Macon where Atlanta
