of office and held criminal intercourse with female convicts The names of the persons with whom he is alleged to have had Intercourse are as follows: Libbie Garrahrant murderess serving a life 'enteritis Eva Steele (colored) murderess now out of prison Annie Lenhard forger and shop-lifter now in a New York prison Mary Smith forger now at liberty and Minnie Scooter sneak thief through whom the chargee of cdminal intercourse were recently made public Two of these Elisabeth Garrabrant and Eva Steele were called today and both testified to criminal knowledge of the defendant Garrabrant on this evening By a defective fine the roof of Wile's grocery house caught lire but by the timely arrival of the engine the flames were soon extinguished The roof was somewhat damaged also Mr Wile's furniture from water Last evening William Green's residonee burned to the ground with house hold effects Mr Green lives on the Cairo road three miles from Gallatin and was away upon his farm when the
